U.S.Rail strike update.

The Gazette (Archived): National rail strike could cripple supply chain.

Little sign of progress has been seen ahead of a potential massive walkout beginning this Friday, after freight railroads and labor unions that represent more than 90,000 workers have held talks to try to avoid a strike that could cost the U.S. economy more than $2 billion a day.

A national rail strike, effective 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time Friday, would threaten shipments of grains, fertilizer and energy when global food prices are elevated and inflation ripples through economies.

NBC News (Archived): Supply chain concerns grow as deadline for freight rail strike looms.

A 30-day moratorium that has so far forestalled a strike is set to end Friday for members of the two largest U.S. freight rail unions, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, or BLET, and SMART Transportation Division.
[.]
Biden can no longer freeze negotiations to avert a strike.

Business Insider (MSN Archived): Amtrak is canceling trains as railroad unions prepare to strike, throwing the rail network into chaos.

Amtrak suspended some of its most storied and picturesque routes on Tuesday in preparation for an impending rail worker strike that could further upend supply chains and damage the US economy.

Maybe you thought Biden and his Handlers are nearing the end of ruining the U.S. and global economies, the Western standards of living and things couldn't get any worse? Oh no, not by a long shot.

US Markets Shudder on Dashed Inflation Hopes; Dow Falls 1,250.

VOA (Archived): US Markets Shudder on Dashed Inflation Hopes; Dow Falls 1,250.

NEW YORK — Stocks tumbled to their worst day in more than two years Tuesday, knocking the Dow Jones Industrial Average down more than 1,250 points, following Wall Street's humbling realization that inflation is not slowing as much as hoped. (Insert your Shocked Face! - DD)

The S&P 500 sank 4.3%, its biggest drop since June 2020. The Dow fell 3.9% and the Nasdaq composite closed 5.2% lower. The sell-off ended a four-day winning streak for the major stock indexes and erased an early rally in European markets.

Bond prices also fell sharply, sending their yields higher, after a report showed inflation decelerated only to 8.3% in August, instead of the 8.1% economists expected.

The hotter-than-expected reading has traders bracing for the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates even higher than expected to combat inflation, with all the risks for the economy that entails. Fears about higher rates sent prices dropping for everything from gold to cryptocurrencies to crude oil.

Dementia Joe's Marxist Inflation Reduction Act is off to a great start!

Orland Park, IL Mayor Keith Pekau warns of upcoming 2023 $0 bail.

In an interview with Fox News Digital on Thursday, Chicago-area Mayor Keith Pekau called out the Democratic-led state legislature for passing what’s been dubbed the 2021 SAFE-T Act, which aims to enact "extensive reform impacting many areas of the criminal justice system" at the start of 2023.

Pekau, a Republican leading the city of Orland Park, Illinois, said the 780-page bill was passed "in the middle of the night, with just 40 minutes of debate" and was purposely designed by Democrats to take effect on Jan. 1, 2023, after the midterm election knowing what it will do to escalate crime.
[.]
[...] Pekau said he felt compelled to speak out against the 2021 SAFE-T Act. He said the legislation will allow suspects charged with kidnapping – as well as second-degree murder, drug-induced homicide, aggravated battery, burglary, robbery and arson – to be released on $0.

"We already have this problem a little bit in Cook County, where they're letting violent criminals out on low bail or no bail. And you’ve seen what's happening in Chicago with crime and how much crime has spiked because of it," Pekau told Fox News Digital. "Like that policy on steroids is what this is. And it will be completely statewide, and it's a law. So it's not like the police can do anything."

Pekau is running for U.S. House. He'd get my vote if I lived in this district.

MN "Republican" candidate Dr. Scott Jensen already backpedaling. Why not give your concession speech tomorrow, Scott?

Jensen is backpedaling his stand on abortion. Why? Because current MN Dem Gov. Timmy "Tub O Lard" Walz and the libs who worship at the Altar of Abortion are defining Jensen and he's too cowardly to stand by his (previously held) convictions.

This is Round Two of Jensen allowing his political opposition to define him. His first was conceding that he erred in what the libs inaccurately portrayed as Jensen comparing Walz to Nazi Germany

Walz's tyrannic abusive policies during the height of Covid killed countless numbers of people in elder care, assisted living and nursing homes. Walz loved his new role of mini-Dictator. You'd think Jensen could take this issue and run with it, but no, he turns tail and downplays this after false ginned-up hyperbolic criticism.

When one allows their political opposition to define who they are and backpedal, you're losing mojo, and Jensen is.

Depending on the poll, currently Walz is leading Jensen by 4% statewide (Change Research). In the Twin Cities  metro, Walz leads Jensen 50% to 36% (KSTP-TV). Jensen doesn't have a chance unless he can close the gap in the TC area.

Walz waited for a gift and Jensen gave it to him without even considering the optics. Talk about easy bait. Tub O Lard played Jensen like a fiddle.

FFS, Scott, don't you have any Spin Doctors?

Congratulate yourself Scott, you've just handed a second term to Tub O Lard.

This morbidly obese fucktard, originally from Nebraska, is going to be Minnesota's governor once again because Jensen doesn't have a spine or a pair of balls.

Chicago, Illinois, Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) now says it is “immoral” and “unpatriotic” for Gov. Greg Abbott (R) to bus migrants from Texas to the sanctuary city.

New DeSantis ad drops. Kicks Ass! (VIDEO)

Josh Hammer@josh_hammer

Single best ad of the political cycle thus far.

It's a great ad. I bet Mitch McConnell hasn't seen the ad. Is Mitch even aware of Ron DeSantis? Could Mitch copy a page from the DeSantis playbook? Of course he could, but he won't.

It's been five days since Biden insulted half the nation with his vitriolic and divisive rhetoric and RINO Mitch hasn't said a word, which says it all.

Five days after the speech, McConnell has not publicly remarked on Biden’s rhetoric. His office did not respond to several requests for comment from Breitbart News that spanned several days.

Politico: McConnell pulls RNC ad money from AZ's Blake Masters.

Senate Republicans’ primary super PAC is canceling nearly $10 million in Arizona and Alaska ad reservations, raising questions about the party’s commitment to Blake Masters, its Senate nominee in the Copper State.

The Senate Leadership Fund, which is aligned with Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, is scrapping roughly $8 million in ads — about half of its initial Arizona reservation — that were supposed to start in the early fall. The group’s ads are now set to begin in early October.

McConnell doesn't want Conservatives, he wants RINOs and the UniParty. And that, dear valued readers who drop by here, isn't a "Red Wave."

Nikkei ends lower on fears U.S. rate hikes will hurt global economy.

People's Daily: Nikkei ends lower on fears U.S. rate hikes will hurt global economy.

09:20, September 06, 2022

TOKYO, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Japan's benchmark Nikkei stock index closed lower for a fourth successive day Monday, following Wall Street's weak lead late last week amid ongoing concerns the U.S. Federal Reserve's aggressive rate hikes will impact the global economy.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 31.23 points, or 0.11 percent, from Friday to close the day at 27,619.61.

The broader Topix index, meanwhile, shed 1.38 points, or 0.07 percent, to finish at 1,928.79.

Local dealers said the market mood was dented following Wall Street's poor showing on Friday, owing to solid U.S. jobs data for August supporting the median market consensus the Fed will continue with its aggressive rate hikes to combat inflation.

"The Fed will likely push ahead with a 0.75 point basis rate hike to be announced later this month, with the central bank also signaling its aggressive monetary policy will continue into the future despite the impact it will have on its own and the global economy," a Tokyo-based investment analyst was quoted as saying.

Market strategists also noted that U.S. markets being closed for the Labor Day holiday on Monday added to a risk-off mood, amid a lack of fresh trading cues.

We'll see how U.S. markets react on Tuesday's Opening Bell.

Finland March 2020, "No we'll NOT run out of toilet paper." Finald August 2022, "We're RUNNING OUT of toilet paper."

August 2022:

AW Journal (Archived): Finland warns of toilet paper shortage.

The Finnish company Metsä Tissue, one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of sanitary and hygiene products, has announced the threat of a shortage of toilet paper due to the energy crisis. The company announced this in a press release published on Friday, August 26.

“In recent weeks, Metsä Tissue has been forced to reduce production for several days at its factories in Zilina (Slovakia) and Kreuzau (Germany) due to high electricity prices,” the report says.

March 2020:

Forest.fi (Archived): Five facts about toilet paper – no, we’ll not run out of it.

If ever anything is certain, it is that stockpiling toilet paper in Finland or in most other Western countries is pointless. There will not be a shortage of toilet paper.

Two mills in Finland make tissue paper: the Metsä Tissue mill in Mänttä and the Essity mill in Nokia. Both are producing toilet paper at full capacity. Maintenance shutdowns at many mills have also been postponed until later.

A story at Europe Says (Archived) simply states, "Finnish firm warns of toilet paper shortage as energy costs wipe out production." That firm is...you guessed it, Metsä Tissue who, as we can see from above, in the span of a little over two years said, "There will be no toilet paper shortage," to, "There's a toilet paper shortage."

Alahed News: Germans Warned of Toilet Paper Shortage.

The crisis on the European gas market could lead to reduced production of toilet paper in Germany, according to Martin Krengel, chairman of the nation’s paper industry association, Die Papierindustrie.

“We are particularly dependent on gas for the production of tissue paper. Without it, we will no longer be able to provide security of supply,” Krengel said in a statement published on Thursday.

According to data provided by Die Papierindustrie, each German citizen uses an average of 134 rolls of toilet paper per year. “In the current energy crisis, our top priority is to provide people with this important commodity,” Krengel stressed.

Last month, the Bavarian Paper Association warned that operating paper plants may become unprofitable if they are forced to work at reduced capacity due to natural gas shortages.

Ted Kennedy receives 13 year sobriety pin!

Congrats, Ted! Thirteen years sober. DOD: August 25, 2009.

Ted Kennedy left the scene of his drunk driving, returned to his hotel room and went to sleep while Mary Jo Kopechne drown in, what experts say was a slow, four-hour horrific tortuous death as the car slowly filled with water. She ran out of air pockets. She died. Ted was in his hotel bed.

He didn't report anything to the police until the next morning after consulting with his advisers.

He never was held accountable:

Judge James A. Boyle presided at the inquest. Among Judge Boyle's conclusions were the following:

* "Kopechne and Kennedy did not intend to return to Edgartown" at the time they left the party.
* "Kennedy did not intend to drive to the ferry slip".
* "[Kennedy]'s turn onto Dike Road was intentional".

Judge Boyle also said that "negligent driving appears to have contributed to the death of Mary Jo Kopechne".

Under Massachusetts law Boyle could have ordered Kennedy's arrest, but he chose not to do so. District Attorney [Edmund] Dinis chose not to pursue Kennedy for manslaughter, despite Judge Boyle's conclusions.

Trudeau installing weapons armouries, interrogation rooms for Ministry of Climate Change.

Counter Signal - EXCLUSIVE LEAK: Trudeau installing weapons armouries, interrogation rooms for Ministry of Climate Change.

The Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is building a new facility in Winnipeg that will be home to a firearms armoury, interrogation rooms, biological labs, media relations offices, “controlled quiet rooms,” and intelligence facilities.

The plans, which were drawn up by a firm in Winnipeg, open a window into Trudeau’s future plans for Climate Enforcement.

Down the hall from the proposed “Firearms Storage” rooms are several evidence rooms, interrogation suites, and adjacent recording rooms.

According to a recently posted Indeed.com ad, the Ministry is searching to recruit a battalion of Climate “Pollution” Officers, a unit within the coldly named “Environmental Enforcement Directorate.”

If you emit too much carbon or use too much fertilizer, you may just be on the Climate Communists’ hit list.

The entire facility that was leaked to The Counter Signal is sketched to be over 50,000 square feet, will house hundreds of ECCC staff, and will also be home to weather forecasting staff.

CNN via WMUR (Archived): Pfizer seeks FDA authorization for updated COVID-19 booster.

Pfizer and BioNTech have submitted their application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for emergency use authorization of their bivalent COVID-19 vaccine for use in people age 12 and older, the companies said in a statement on Monday.

This updated formulation will combine the original vaccine with one that targets omicron sublineages BA.4 and BA.5, and would be administered as a 30 microgram dose.

Pre-clinical data demonstrated that the new BA.4/5 bivalent vaccine "generated a strong neutralizing antibody response against omicron BA.1, BA.2 and BA.4/BA.5 variants, as well as the original wild-type strain," according to the companies. This is all by design and it's not Biden. He's an empty vessel. He doesn't know what day it is unless he's amp'ed up. This is all orchestrated by his handlers and the globalists behind the curtain. Their goal is breaking the American economy. No one can be this inept. It is pure evil, control and avarice that drives them.

If you're cheering on a "Red Wave" this November election thinking that will really change things, well - - - good luck. I wish you well. You maybe haven't lived long enough to underestimate RINOs and the UniParty to the degree you should. I'm not a pessimist, but Mitch McConnell isn't interested in changing course all that much.

Fauci announces that he will retire at the end of the year.

The Washington Examiner: Dr. Anthony Fauci announced Monday that he will retire at the end of the year.

Dr. Anthony Fauci announced Monday that he will retire at the end of the year.

Fauci will be stepping down in December from his positions as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, chief of the NIAID's Laboratory of Immunoregulation, and chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, according to the National Institutes of Health.

"While I am moving on from my current positions, I am not retiring," Fauci said. "After more than 50 years of government service, I plan to pursue the next phase of my career while I still have so much energy and passion for my field. I want to use what I have learned as NIAID director to continue to advance science and public health and to inspire and mentor the next generation of scientific leaders as they help prepare the world to face future infectious disease threats."

"Next phase of his career." Uh-huh. On the board of Pfizer? Moderna? Another Dancing Monkey for Klaus Schwab?

Socialism explained.

H/T: Not PC.

Mitch McConnell already cheerleading for a November Republican loss.

FOX News (Archived): McConnell makes grim prediction about Republicans in Senate races, references 'candidate quality'.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-KY, thinks that Republicans have a lukewarm chance of flipping the Senate in November, citing "candidate quality" as a factor.

The senator made the honest prediction at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Thursday afternoon.

"I think there's probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate," the minority leader anticipated. "Senate races are just different, they're statewide. Candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome."

"Right now, we have a 50-50 Senate and a 50-50 country, but I think when all is said and done this fall, we’re likely to have an extremely close Senate. Either our side up slightly or their side up slightly," McConnell explained.

"Candidate quality"? Mitch just wants more UniParty members with a flaccid "R" behind their name. It doesn't have to be this way, but Mitch wants RINOs. Political Longevity before Country. Got it, Mitch...a looooooooooong time ago.

Give a Silver Platter to Republicans and they always find a way to f#ck it up. Every Single Time.

HEY! Mitch! LOOK! LOOK OVER HERE: AP (Yahoo Archived): Pro-Trump wins in blue states threaten GOP hopes in November.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Republicans have found success in Democratic strongholds like Maryland and Massachusetts when they have fielded moderate candidates who could appeal to voters in both parties. With Democrats facing headwinds this year, Republicans had hoped that strategy could pay off yet again.

But Republican voters have nominated loyalists of former President Donald Trump in several Democratic states, including Maryland and Connecticut, making the GOP’s odds of winning those general election races even longer. Massachusetts will face its own test next month as GOP voters decide between a Trump-backed conservative and a more moderate Republican for the party's gubernatorial nominee.

A "moderate Republican" is Democrat Lite...or, a RINO. Mitch doesn't want Republicans who are endorsed by Trump.

Mitch is happy throwing in the towel months before the election. He doesn't care.

Covid Home Self-Tests Contain Toxic Substance that can be Harmful.

RAIR: Warning: Covid Home Self-Tests Contain Toxic Substance that can be Harmful (Video).

Earlier this year, the U.S. government sent 60 million tax-payer-funded Covid self-tests to Americans. There’s just one problem: they can be dangerous to public health.

Ohio poison control centers are sounding the alarm surrounding a colorless and odorless liquid substance called sodium azides. According to poison control, many of the covid “test kit’s” extraction tubes contain this substance that can be harmful and even deadly to children and adults.

Many are questioning why the government would use such a deadly and controversial substance in the test kits. The chemical is often used in pest control agents and airbags.

The acute toxicity of sodium azide is high. According to NewsNation, If you ingest the substance, you can become dizzy and suffer from headaches and palpitations. In severe cases, people can have a stroke, lose consciousness or even die. Sodium azide has also garnered attention after being used to commit suicide.

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center’s Drug and Poison Information Center has seen a surge in calls about exposures to the chemical since more people started self-testing for Covid at home.

News Nation: Poison Control warns of COVID rapid antigen test danger.

Poison Control officials say the amount of sodium azide in most rapid antigen kits is much lower than the amount expected to cause poisoning if swallowed by an adult. But they are warning that people should be aware the vials resemble small squeeze bottles or eye droppers. Some may accidentally confuse them with medications and apply the drops to their eyes or nose, which may cause irritation. It can also irritate skin or cause a chemical burn. The tests should be kept out of the reach of small children.

There were warnings about home covid tests and the swabs back in January, 2022 at The Expose, but HEY, that's just a Crazed Anti-Vaxxer Conspiracy site.

The ExposeProf. Werner Bergholz: Dangerous Chemicals and Nanotubes Found In Covid Test Swabs.

“The rapid antigen tests contain gold nanoparticles and in at least one case a chemical that has not been approved in Europe and has now received an exemption. All of these substances are harmful to health and the environment. All package inserts for rapid tests that have been examined to date contain chemicals that are hazardous to health. A spit test is based on carbon nanotubes, also a nanomaterial that is fundamentally subject to the European REACH chemicals regulation.”

All swabs that Prof. Bergholz analysed contained the carcinogenic and mutagenic substance EO, 50 times the amount of EO than is permitted.

The British Medical Journal: The first description of human coronavirus—a family of viruses that now includes SARS-CoV-2, the cause of the current covid-19 pandemic—was published in The BMJ in 1965.

The researchers found that they could grow several viruses associated with the common cold, but not all of them. One such sample, referred to as B814, turned out to be what we now know as a coronavirus.

Trudeau Imposes Handgun Import Ban Without Waiting for Parliamentary Approval.

He doesn't need to wait for Parliament approval. He's Teh King of Canada.

A ban on importing handguns to Canada passed by the government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau without a parliamentary vote came into effect on Friday as part of a broader crackdown on gun rights.

The Trudeau government announced that imports of handguns to Canada would be halted earlier this month, with Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino stating that the current ban is temporary until a permanent ban can be passed in the Canadian parliament.

On Friday the import ban came into effect, ostensibly to limit the number of handguns coming into Canada, the CBC reports.

The government put less emphasis on the number of shootings where the firearm used was held illegally rather than legally, however.

Raquel Dancho of the Canadian Conservative Party, who serves as public safety critic, stressed that the move to ban the import of legal handguns would go after the general law-abiding public rather than tackle the illegal smuggling of guns.

This move shouldn't surprise anyone.

Smonday is a long way away.

UPDATE:

USA MacPaper (April 12, 2020 2022 2020...yeah, I know, but I right my wrongs*) Archived): Fauci's 2004 comments on flu vaccine, natural immunity taken out of context.

By Ana Faguy

That happened again recently when Facebook users resurfaced a video of Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, answering a question about the influenza outbreak in 2004. An April 1 post of the video from one Facebook user was shared nearly 900 times in less than a week.
[.]
"Check out this clip of Dr. Fauci in 2004 talking about the STRENGTH of Natural Immunity," the post said. "Fast forward 18 years, what happened to this “'science?!'”

The clip was posted by multiple accounts and accrued thousands of shares.

But Facebook users are taking this clip of Fauci out of context. He is answering a caller's specific question on her flu diagnosis; he is not speaking about COVID-19. Experts say it's not reasonable to apply the same logic to both illnesses given the vast difference in transmissibility and lethality.

Related USA MacPaper story Archived HERE.

I ran across the USA MacPaper story trying to find the source of the video. My guess when I first saw the clip is that it might have been from an appearance on NBC's Sunday "Meet The Press." But it's from CSPAN.

I wasn't aware of this clip until yesterday. I have no idea what others on social media are writing on this.

Fauci is answering a caller's specific question on flu diagnosis. Fauci is qualified to diagnose someone's illness via a PHONE CALL?!? OH! But we're NOT supposed to believe that a healthy immune system strengthens itself by naturally defending or fighting off an infection?

Yeah, there probably are people who are intentionally misrepresenting the video clip. I'm not doing that here. I published the clip with the intention of showing Fauci "before" and "after." I think most people understand that our immune system works pretty darn well.

Hmmm...what's this?

And hey, I should be awarded extree points for not making fun of the USA MacPaper writer's name. Shouldn't I? USA MacPaper "Fact-Checker." Sure. Yeah.
