Alahed News: Germans Warned of Toilet Paper Shortage.
The crisis on the European gas market could lead to reduced production of toilet paper in Germany, according to Martin Krengel, chairman of the nation’s paper industry association, Die Papierindustrie.
“We are particularly dependent on gas for the production of tissue paper. Without it, we will no longer be able to provide security of supply,” Krengel said in a statement published on Thursday.
According to data provided by Die Papierindustrie, each German citizen uses an average of 134 rolls of toilet paper per year. “In the current energy crisis, our top priority is to provide people with this important commodity,” Krengel stressed.
Last month, the Bavarian Paper Association warned that operating paper plants may become unprofitable if they are forced to work at reduced capacity due to natural gas shortages.

Report claim that the 44-year-old was left with a “broken nose, head trauma and damage to his ear” after the fall, although doctors assessing his injuries decided against admitting him for surgery. The guy was later taken into custody and charged with assault of a police officer. He got 2-year suspended jail sentence. He also had to pay 7,000 euros in moral damages to the officer.
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy's [Democrat] administration has been accused since early in the pandemic of failing to protect the residents and employees of nursing and veterans homes. Veterans home staffers have filed 41 lawsuits against the Murphy administration this month alone.
They describe how nursing home management was caught off-guard by COVID, and how managers penalized staffers for trying to protect themselves. And the problems, they say, go to the top — to Murphy and his state Department of Health.
Scott Fallon has been reporting on the pandemic for NorthJersey.com. He spoke about where things stand with All Things Considered host Sean Carlson on WNYC Wednesday. The transcript of their discussion below has been lightly edited for clarity.

Congrats, Ted! Thirteen years sober. DOD: August 25, 2009.
He never was held accountable:
Judge James A. Boyle presided at the inquest. Among Judge Boyle's conclusions were the following:
* "Kopechne and Kennedy did not intend to return to Edgartown" at the time they left the party.
* "Kennedy did not intend to drive to the ferry slip".
* "[Kennedy]'s turn onto Dike Road was intentional".
Judge Boyle also said that "negligent driving appears to have contributed to the death of Mary Jo Kopechne".
Under Massachusetts law Boyle could have ordered Kennedy's arrest, but he chose not to do so. District Attorney [Edmund] Dinis chose not to pursue Kennedy for manslaughter, despite Judge Boyle's conclusions.
NBC (shockingly!), (Archived), from August 25, 2019 gives a modestly critical review of his life: Ted Kennedy died 10 years ago. It's time for liberals, and America, to reassess his life and crimes.
If we are serious about holding the powerful to account and subordinating political interests to ethical ones, there is no better place to start than with a reassessment of Kennedy’s actions and his legacy.
The Magic "D" behind Ted's name absolves him of all wrongdoing.

Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL), the Democrat candidate for governor challenging Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), insulted millions of Floridians after winning his primary election, telling DeSantis supporters they have “hate in your heart” and making it clear that he does not want their vote.
Crist is already setting an incredibly divisive tone[.]
What a dope! 🤣 Insult and alienate perhaps 50% of Florida voters who may not be crazy about current Governor Ron DeSantis and are looking for an alternative. Way to court those Indies and Undecided voters! Great job Charlie!
The Left always tells us who they are by what they say. Libs are Haters, don't ever forget it. Crist hates what DeSantis stands for and he hates the values of DeSantis supporters.
He learned nothing from The Anointed One.
Pro bike rider Rab Wardell died on Tuesday, just two days after he won the MTB XC Championships in Scotland. He was 37.
Scottish Cycling confirmed the news and stated there is “little information” at this time.
“We ask that you respect Rab’s family’s privacy at this incredibly sad time,” the group said.
Wardell’s girlfriend, Olympic cycling medalist Katie Archibald, said Wardell went into cardiac arrest while the two were lying in bed together.
I didn't find any info in searches regarding the vaccination policies at USA Cycling, MTB XC or if Mr. Wardell was vaxxed or not. All we know right now is that this is another Sudden Adult Death (Cardiac-related), in what appears to be young and healthy athletes.
AP (Archived): Jill Biden has 'rebound' COVID-19 case.
WASHINGTON (AP) — First lady Jill Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 again in an apparent “rebound” case, after she initially tested negative for the virus over the weekend.
Jill Biden first tested positive for the virus on Aug. 15, when she and her husband were vacationing in Kiawah Island, S.C. She isolated in the beach town until she received two negative tests and was cleared to meet the president in Delaware on Sunday.
Jill Biden, 71, like her husband, has been twice-vaccinated and twice-boosted with the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. She had been prescribed the antiviral drug Paxlovid[.]

Counter Signal - EXCLUSIVE LEAK: Trudeau installing weapons armouries, interrogation rooms for Ministry of Climate Change.
The Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is building a new facility in Winnipeg that will be home to a firearms armoury, interrogation rooms, biological labs, media relations offices, “controlled quiet rooms,” and intelligence facilities.
The plans, which were drawn up by a firm in Winnipeg, open a window into Trudeau’s future plans for Climate Enforcement.
Down the hall from the proposed “Firearms Storage” rooms are several evidence rooms, interrogation suites, and adjacent recording rooms.
According to a recently posted Indeed.com ad, the Ministry is searching to recruit a battalion of Climate “Pollution” Officers, a unit within the coldly named “Environmental Enforcement Directorate.”
If you emit too much carbon or use too much fertilizer, you may just be on the Climate Communists’ hit list.
The entire facility that was leaked to The Counter Signal is sketched to be over 50,000 square feet, will house hundreds of ECCC staff, and will also be home to weather forecasting staff.

"The issue this fall ... do you want Chuck Schumer to be making these decisions or Mitch McConnell to be making these decisions?" Explain the differences, Mitch, they're so arcane and subtle.
Mitch has two speeds: Slow and Stopped. Does the guy in that clip inspire confidence in you for the 2022 election? Would you allow him to coach a little league team? Do you think he'd inspire them? Would you trust him to adequately supervise Pre-School recess? Good luck if you answered yes to any of those questions.

CNN via WMUR (Archived): Pfizer seeks FDA authorization for updated COVID-19 booster.
Pfizer and BioNTech have submitted their application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for emergency use authorization of their bivalent COVID-19 vaccine for use in people age 12 and older, the companies said in a statement on Monday.
This updated formulation will combine the original vaccine with one that targets omicron sublineages BA.4 and BA.5, and would be administered as a 30 microgram dose.
Pre-clinical data demonstrated that the new BA.4/5 bivalent vaccine "generated a strong neutralizing antibody response against omicron BA.1, BA.2 and BA.4/BA.5 variants, as well as the original wild-type strain," according to the companies. They said a clinical study is expected to start this month.
White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha said recently the updated boosters should be available to the public early- to mid-September, but it is ultimately up to the FDA as to when the shot will get the greenlight.

"Tom is leaving behind a lasting legacy in golf. The beautiful swing he showcased during his 16 career PGA Tour victories is still being emulated today, while his golf courses remain as testaments to his love for the game. The Washington Examiner: Dr. Anthony Fauci announced Monday that he will retire at the end of the year.
Dr. Anthony Fauci announced Monday that he will retire at the end of the year.
Fauci will be stepping down in December from his positions as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, chief of the NIAID's Laboratory of Immunoregulation, and chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, according to the National Institutes of Health.
"While I am moving on from my current positions, I am not retiring," Fauci said. "After more than 50 years of government service, I plan to pursue the next phase of my career while I still have so much energy and passion for my field. I want to use what I have learned as NIAID director to continue to advance science and public health and to inspire and mentor the next generation of scientific leaders as they help prepare the world to face future infectious disease threats."

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-KY, thinks that Republicans have a lukewarm chance of flipping the Senate in November, citing "candidate quality" as a factor.
The senator made the honest prediction at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Thursday afternoon.
"I think there's probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate," the minority leader anticipated. "Senate races are just different, they're statewide. Candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome."
"Right now, we have a 50-50 Senate and a 50-50 country, but I think when all is said and done this fall, we’re likely to have an extremely close Senate. Either our side up slightly or their side up slightly," McConnell explained.
"Candidate quality"? Mitch just wants more UniParty members with a flaccid "R" behind their name. It doesn't have to be this way, but Mitch wants RINOs. Political Longevity before Country. Got it, Mitch...a looooooooooong time ago.
Give a Silver Platter to Republicans and they always find a way to f#ck it up. Every Single Time.
HEY! Mitch! LOOK! LOOK OVER HERE: AP (Yahoo Archived): Pro-Trump wins in blue states threaten GOP hopes in November.
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Republicans have found success in Democratic strongholds like Maryland and Massachusetts when they have fielded moderate candidates who could appeal to voters in both parties. With Democrats facing headwinds this year, Republicans had hoped that strategy could pay off yet again.
But Republican voters have nominated loyalists of former President Donald Trump in several Democratic states, including Maryland and Connecticut, making the GOP’s odds of winning those general election races even longer. Massachusetts will face its own test next month as GOP voters decide between a Trump-backed conservative and a more moderate Republican for the party's gubernatorial nominee.
A "moderate Republican" is Democrat Lite...or, a RINO. Mitch doesn't want Republicans who are endorsed by Trump.
Mitch is happy throwing in the towel months before the election. He doesn't care.
Earlier this year, the U.S. government sent 60 million tax-payer-funded Covid self-tests to Americans. There’s just one problem: they can be dangerous to public health.
Ohio poison control centers are sounding the alarm surrounding a colorless and odorless liquid substance called sodium azides. According to poison control, many of the covid “test kit’s” extraction tubes contain this substance that can be harmful and even deadly to children and adults.
Many are questioning why the government would use such a deadly and controversial substance in the test kits. The chemical is often used in pest control agents and airbags.
The acute toxicity of sodium azide is high. According to NewsNation, If you ingest the substance, you can become dizzy and suffer from headaches and palpitations. In severe cases, people can have a stroke, lose consciousness or even die. Sodium azide has also garnered attention after being used to commit suicide.
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center’s Drug and Poison Information Center has seen a surge in calls about exposures to the chemical since more people started self-testing for Covid at home.
Poison Control officials say the amount of sodium azide in most rapid antigen kits is much lower than the amount expected to cause poisoning if swallowed by an adult. But they are warning that people should be aware the vials resemble small squeeze bottles or eye droppers. Some may accidentally confuse them with medications and apply the drops to their eyes or nose, which may cause irritation. It can also irritate skin or cause a chemical burn. The tests should be kept out of the reach of small children.
There were warnings about home covid tests and the swabs back in January, 2022 at The Expose, but HEY, that's just a Crazed Anti-Vaxxer Conspiracy site.
“The rapid antigen tests contain gold nanoparticles and in at least one case a chemical that has not been approved in Europe and has now received an exemption. All of these substances are harmful to health and the environment. All package inserts for rapid tests that have been examined to date contain chemicals that are hazardous to health. A spit test is based on carbon nanotubes, also a nanomaterial that is fundamentally subject to the European REACH chemicals regulation.”
All swabs that Prof. Bergholz analysed contained the carcinogenic and mutagenic substance EO, 50 times the amount of EO than is permitted.
The researchers found that they could grow several viruses associated with the common cold, but not all of them. One such sample, referred to as B814, turned out to be what we now know as a coronavirus.
Who will totally and completely trust Teh Science, The CDC, The FDA, WHO and anything Teh Medical "Experts" tell us in the future? Show of hands?
The Trudeau government announced that imports of handguns to Canada would be halted earlier this month, with Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino stating that the current ban is temporary until a permanent ban can be passed in the Canadian parliament.
On Friday the import ban came into effect, ostensibly to limit the number of handguns coming into Canada, the CBC reports.
The government put less emphasis on the number of shootings where the firearm used was held illegally rather than legally, however.
Raquel Dancho of the Canadian Conservative Party, who serves as public safety critic, stressed that the move to ban the import of legal handguns would go after the general law-abiding public rather than tackle the illegal smuggling of guns.

USA MacPaper (April 12,
2020 2022 2020...yeah, I know, but I right my wrongs*) Archived): Fauci's 2004 comments on flu vaccine, natural immunity taken out of context.
By Ana Faguy
That happened again recently when Facebook users resurfaced a video of Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, answering a question about the influenza outbreak in 2004. An April 1 post of the video from one Facebook user was shared nearly 900 times in less than a week.
"Check out this clip of Dr. Fauci in 2004 talking about the STRENGTH of Natural Immunity," the post said. "Fast forward 18 years, what happened to this “'science?!'”
The clip was posted by multiple accounts and accrued thousands of shares.
But Facebook users are taking this clip of Fauci out of context. He is answering a caller's specific question on her flu diagnosis; he is not speaking about COVID-19. Experts say it's not reasonable to apply the same logic to both illnesses given the vast difference in transmissibility and lethality.
Related USA MacPaper story Archived HERE.
I ran across the USA MacPaper story trying to find the source of the video. My guess when I first saw the clip is that it might have been from an appearance on NBC's Sunday "Meet The Press." But it's from CSPAN.
I wasn't aware of this clip until yesterday. I have no idea what others on social media are writing on this.
Fauci is answering a caller's specific question on flu diagnosis. Fauci is qualified to diagnose someone's illness via a PHONE CALL?!? OH! But we're NOT supposed to believe that a healthy immune system strengthens itself by naturally defending or fighting off an infection?
Yeah, there probably are people who are intentionally misrepresenting the video clip. I'm not doing that here. I published the clip with the intention of showing Fauci "before" and "after." I think most people understand that our immune system works pretty darn well.
And hey, I should be awarded extree points for not making fun of the USA MacPaper writer's name. Shouldn't I? USA MacPaper "Fact-Checker." Sure. Yeah.

German monkeypox patient nose started to ROT because his undiagnosed HIV and syphilis left his immune system ravaged.
A 40-year-old man from Germany went to his GP with a red spot on his nose.
After three days the nose had gone black and lesions appeared on his body.
He had never had an STI test before and doctors discovered he had HIV.
A monkeypox patient's nose started to rot in one of the most shocking cases documented in the current outbreak.
The 40-year-old man, from Germany, went to his GP with a red spot on his nose which was initially dismissed as sunburn.
But within three days the skin on his nose started to die and turn black, leaving him with a painful, swollen scab.
Around the same time white pus-filled spots developed across his entire body, which were particularly bad on his penis and around his mouth.
A PCR test confirmed he was infected with monkeypox and he was taken to hospital and given a course of antiviral medication.
Further tests revealed the patient, who was not named, also had undiagnosed syphilis and HIV. He told medics he had never been tested for a sexually transmitted infection (STI) before.
The man was given drugs to treat the infections and the lesions dried out but his nose only 'partially improved'.
What happens when the scientific evidence is so clear about the spike protein from the COVID vaccines remaining in your body that the CDC has to admit they were wrong?
They just delete the inaccurate statement and say nothing. Nothing!
[T]his is a very big deal because the spike protein produced by these vaccines is FAR more dangerous in a great many ways than the spike from covid itself and this is even more true today when compared to more moderate variants like omicron.
[T]he vaccines are highly CG enriched and this is a strong reason to presume that having them linger around for long periods will increase the risk of, accelerate, or outright cause cancer, heart damage, and a number of other extreme ill effects.

History: VJ Day.
On August 14, 1945, it was announced that Japan had surrendered unconditionally to the Allies, effectively ending World War II. Since then, both August 14 and August 15 have been known as “Victoryover Japan Day,” or simply “V-J Day.” The term has also been used for September 2, 1945, when Japan’s formal surrender took place aboard the U.S.S. Missouri, anchored in Tokyo Bay.
In a radio address in the early afternoon of August 15 (August 14 in the United States), Emperor Hirohito urged his people to accept the surrender, blaming the use of the “new and most cruel bomb” on Hiroshima and Nagasaki for the country’s defeat. “Should we continue to fight,” Hirohito declared, “it would not only result in the ultimate collapse and obliteration of the Japanese nation but would also lead to the total extinction of human civilization.”

The Conversation: Reducing gun violence: A complicated problem can’t be solved with just one approach, so Indianapolis is trying programs ranging from job skills to therapy to violence interrupters to find out what works.
The city is also trying many promising approaches to reducing violence that – if proven successful – could benefit other urban areas across the U.S.
"To find out what works."
Enforcing existing gun laws and maximum prison time for crimes by those using guns are answers that somehow eludes this Indianapolis Think Tank. I'm going to guess there will be several studies, task forces and millions of dollars spent on the elusive solutions they seek.
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! From the same link as above:
Using these federal funds, the city is partnering with the Indianapolis Foundation to award grants totaling $45 million from 2022 through 2024 for local efforts to reduce gun violence.
