The House Fails. Need more Peach Mints!

Breitbart: Senate Votes Down Extra Impeachment Witnesses, Paves Way for Trump Acquittal.
The Senate on Friday voted down a motion to allow for additional witnesses to testify as part of the upper chamber’s impeachment trial, all but ensuring a quick acquittal of President Donald Trump.

The 51 to 49 vote thwarted Democrats’ ongoing effort to hear from current and former Trump administration officials such as acting White House Chief of State Mick Mulvaney and former National Security Advisor John Bolton.
[.]
Only two Republicans — Sens. Mitt Romney (R-UT) and Susan Collins (R-ME) — voted in favor of the motion for more witnesses, with the former saying he believes that it was important to hear from Bolton.
Basically, The House didn't do their job as prosecutors. They failed. Their case was tossed out of court. The House had the opportunity to have John Bolton testify before Adam Schiff's Clown Show. The House chose not to pursue Bolton. They tried to pass their failure on this onto The Senate, who, correctly, would have none of this nonsense from the House.

Besides, DEMs have had nothing but contempt for Bolton for decades. Until the past 24-36 hours, when they fell in love with him because of some alleged, second-hand report from The NY Times based on unpublished manuscripts of a future book written by Bolton. I guess there's a shortage on current-events political books sitting, unsold, in warehouses everywhere.

The House failed. The DEMS were driving a bus off a cliff and they were the only ones who weren't aware of it. Or they were fully aware and decided to ignore it based solely on bias and TDS. If that isn't the definition of delusion and derangement, then I don't know what is.

The House failed in forming a coherent and substantive case. Instead, House Managers carried into The Senate nothing more than a bag of garbage. And, as DEMS always do, they pass their messes onto others, feebly hoping that the heavy-lifting and fixing their mistakes will be done by others. The Senate and counsel for the President turned the onus right back onto Schiff and Company. And House Managers had nothing.

Schiff and Company would have had a better argument entering The Senate with the excuse that, "the dog ate their homework."

As expected, RINO's Mittens Romney and Susan Collins voted with the DEMS. Both need to stick a 'D' behind their name and both need to be challenged, and defeated, by more Trumpian Republicans or Conservatives.

I haven't checked social media and don't plan on it, but I hope DEMs everywhere are feeling crushed; unhinged and deranged, thrown into depths of despair. And copious amounts of The Sweet, Unfathomable and Yummy Tears of Sadness.

Copious, Copious amounts...

Unfathomably Delicious!

When does Peach Mint 2.0 begin?

UK leaves EU. Brexit happens!

The UK has officially left the European Union after 47 years of membership - and more than three years after it voted to do so in a referendum.

The historic moment, which happened at 23:00 GMT, was marked by both celebrations and anti-Brexit protests.

Candlelit vigils were held in Scotland, which voted to stay in the EU, while Brexiteers partied in London's Parliament Square.

Boris Johnson has vowed to bring the country together and "take us forward".
[.]
Britain joined what was then European Economic Community on 1 January, 1973, at the third attempt. Two years later the country voted by an overwhelming majority to remain in the bloc in the first nationwide referendum.

Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron held another referendum in June 2016, amid growing pressure from his own MPs and Nigel Farage's UK Independence Party.

Mr Cameron led the campaign to stay in the EU but lost by the narrow margin of 52% to 48% to the Leave campaign, fronted by fellow Conservative Boris Johnson.

Mr Cameron's successor as prime minister, Theresa May, repeatedly failed to get her version of an EU withdrawal agreement passed by Parliament and was replaced by Mr Johnson, who also failed to get his plans through.

Mr Johnson managed to secure an early general election in December last year, which he won with an 80 seat majority, on a promise to "get Brexit done".

[.] Most EU laws will continue to be in force - including the free movement of people - until 31 December, when the transition period comes to an end.

The last time Jerry Nadler moved this fast was when he heard the words, "Free, All-you-can-eat buffet."

Rep. Jerry Nadler raced to the podium Thursday after Chief Justice John Roberts read the last question  before adjourning for the evening, blowing past House impeachment manager Rep. Adam Schiff who attempted to stop him.
[.]
"Jerry, Jerry, Jerry," Schiff said as he stepped toward his colleague.

This is INCREDIBLE. Schiff tried to stop Nadler! You can hear him call him to stop. And then he showed why," National Republican Senate Committee senior advisor Matt Whitlock tweeted. "Dems ask for a closing statement on the night. Nadler, clearly fed up, jumps to his feet and scurries to the mic, ignoring audible protests of lead manager Schiff. Then Nadler gives a terrible lecturing close."
[.]
MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell even commented on how quickly Nadler raced to the podium.

"Adam Schiff stood. He was ready to go to the podium. He only had to do about three steps to get there. Jerry Nadler had to do about 12. It's the fastest I've seen Jerry Nadler move, in the 25 years that I've known him," O'Donnell remarked.

Study finds You Tube is a gateway to far-right ideologies.

Research presented at the ACM FAT 2020 conference in Barcelona today supports the notion that YouTube’s platform is playing a role in radicalizing users via exposure to far-right ideologies.

The study, carried out by researchers at Switzerland’s Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne and the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil, found evidence that users who engaged with a middle ground of extreme right-wing content migrated to commenting on the most fringe far-right content.

A March 2018 New York Times article by sociologist Zeynep Tufekci set out the now widely reported thesis that YouTube is a radicalization engine. Followup reporting by journalist Kevin Roose told a compelling tale of the personal experience of an individual, Caleb Cain, who described falling down an “alt right rabbit hole” on YouTube.

Their paper, called “Auditing radicalization pathways on YouTube,” details a large-scale study of YouTube looking for traces of evidence — in likes, comments and views — that certain right-leaning YouTube communities are acting as gateways to fringe far-right ideologies.
[.]
We reached out to YouTube for a response to the research but the company did not reply to our questions.

The company has tightened its approach toward certain far-right and extremist content in recent years, in the face of growing political and public pressure over hate speech, targeted harassment and radicalization risks.

It has also been experimenting with reducing algorithmic amplification of certain types of potentially damaging nonsense content that falls outside its general content guidelines — such as malicious conspiracy theories and junk science.
You Tube didn't reply to questions from Tech Crunch? Why, that's shocking. You Tube customer service is the finest ever, hands-down. Must be something temporary or they're short-staffed due to the flu.

It's impossible to visit You Tube and not fall into an "alt-right rabbit hole", isn't it? Happens all the time. I'll be watching an AC/DC video and then, just like Hillary says, those Dark Web Right Wing Videos fly by, you don't know what you really just viewed, you don't really remember what it was, can't find it again, and then free-fall into unintended depths of "alt-right rabbit holes".

I haven't read Switzerland’s Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne and the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil study, but I'm betting it's pretty junky science, both capricious and arbitrary.

Oh, yeah - who's Zeynep Tufekci? Here ya go.

The post removed by The Blogger Team is one where I simply linked to other stories and sources (The NY Post, a couple Twitter Tweets and some screen captures)  asking questions if the person photographed on the gurney was Epstein. That was the extent of the post other than two sentences that I added to the post:
"We can only ponder what is the "further information" they need. Could it be along the lines of, "Who is this guy? It's not Jeff Epstein."
Commenting on a possible conspiracy theory that the person shown on a gurney might not be the person we're told. How is that "harassment and/or bullying"?

The links in the censored post to Twitter were asking the same question, "the person on the gurney has various facial features inconsistent with all other photographs in the public domain of Epstein."

The NY Post story that I linked to simply stated "the Medical Examiner’s Office needs 'further information' before determining a cause of death."

How does anyone "harass or bully" an alleged dead person, Jeffrey Epstein?

There was, and is, no harassment or bullying towards the Twitter links or the other links or images used in the post. Or is simply asking questions about conspiracy theories now included as off-limits by The Blogger Team?

Maybe Epstein's death is a hoax? This is totally implausible? No one has ever faked a death and then received a new identity? No one has ever heard of someone who's been given a new identity to escape their past, for instance, as in Witness Relocation? And this process couldn't be done for someone with scandalous intel on very important people, as was known by Epstein?

No one, ever, has contacted me about material on this site they considered objectionable - one of the first suggestions given by Blogger/Google in their Terms of Service.

Not a single complaint filed at Lumen.

No notification or warning or email from Blogger asking for any information from me. No - they just spike the post.

Mr. Peanut's death postponed due to Kobe Bryant.

Collider: Mr. Peanut’s Death Was Inspired by ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
The plan was that Mr. Peanut’s funeral would be broadcast in a Super Bowl commercial during the third quarter of the big game, but the commercial and all promotional content has been paused indefinitely following the real-life death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant on Sunday.
[.]
Speaking with MSN before the commercial was pulled, Group Creative Director at Planters’ agency VaynerMedia [sic], Mike Pierantozzi, said the idea to kill off Mr. Peanut was inspired by Tony Stark’s death in Avengers: Endgame. No, really:

“We started talking about how the internet treats when someone dies — specifically, we were thinking about fictional characters, [like when] Iron Man died. When Iron Man died, we saw an incredible reaction on Twitter and on social media. It’s such a strange phenomenon.”
[.]
They went the somber route and took Mr. Peanut’s death incredibly seriously, hyping up his “funeral” that would be broadcast during the Super Bowl. The idea backfired, as we now know, and it’ll be curious to see if and when this “commercial” sees the light of day.

“We wanted you to know that we are saddened by this weekend’s news and Planters has paused all campaign activities, including paid media, and will evaluate next steps through a lens of sensitivity to those impacted by this tragedy,” a spokesperson for Planters reportedly said.

Maybe brands shouldn’t use death as a way to advertise their content? Just a thought.
The Death of Mr. Peanut Super Bowl ad which won't air due to the death of Kobe Bryant:

I'm undecided on which is the more stupid move, it's a coin toss. The ad agency so creatively bankrupt that they steal borrow a narrative as old as time itself with their best pitch being killing an iconic Brand character, or the company making the product that approves the killing of its iconic Brand character.

How hard is it to sell the Planter's brand?

DEM Cenk Uygur: Bestiality Advocate and Rules for dating. Bernie Sanders distances and disavows. And "Cows"!!!

Finally getting to this.

Cenk Uygur, DEM candidate (CA...big surprise) Breitbart (November 2019):  for the vacated Katie Hill congressional seat, must be just what the Far Left wants in their party.
Uygur has a controversial past, particularly in regard to women. He was forced out of his own Justice Democrats in 2017 after problematic sexist blog posts from the early 2000s surfaced.

In one post, the Democrat laid out his “hard and fast rules of dating.”

“Women, ignore these at your peril,” Uygur wrote.

His three rules were as follows:

Rule 1: There must be some serious making out by the third date.

If I haven’t felt your tits by then, things are not about to last much longer. In fact, if you don’t get back on track by the fourth date, you’re done.

Rule 2: There must be orgasm by the fifth date.

No, ands, ifs, or buts. If I haven’t unloaded by this time, things are intolerably slow. There will be no sixth date to give you a second chance. If you haven’t delivered by now, you’re done.

Rule 3: There must be sex by the second month of dating.
Cenk sounds like a nice guy, huh? He appears to have the enduring qualities DEMS insist infuse their party. I'll wager he's elected and makes California's 25th district very proud.

To repeat, the above was written in the early 2000s. And it takes 19 years for any DEM, and Sanders, to condemn such misogyny?

Daily Caller on December 12, 2019Bernie Sanders Endorses ‘Young Turks’ Host Who Called For Legalizing Bestiality.

Here's Uygur, his own words:

Within 24 hours, Bernie Sanders withdrew his support and endorsement of Uygur. The Daily Beast on December 13, 2019: Bernie Rescinds Endorsement After Women’s Groups Blast ‘Misogynist’ Cenk Uygur.

Had Bernie not been confronted over Uygur's comments, one wonders if Bernie would still be supporting him. And, am I the only one who - after reading the story at Daily Beast - concludes that Bernie's view on bestiality is basically, "Meh...."?

This song is for you, Cenk. Maybe you too, Bernie.

"Cows" from In Combo by The Suburbs.

I like cows
And they like me
I like cows
Just wait and see

When they go 'moo'
Hey, move over!
Oh yeah!
Uh uh uh

Well, I like cows
I like to watch them eat
I like cows
They don't move when they eat
And I'm a lone cowhand
From Rio Grande

I like cows
They've got skinny feet
Unlike their friends, the shaved sheep
They've got skinny feet

Extortion...I mean... "financial settlements"...always fixes "trauma".

The Background of the Minnehaha Regional Park story.

Daily Mail: $170,000 compensation payout for four terrified Somali-American teens.
The families of four Somali-American boys have received a $170,000 settlement from the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board after the group were held at gunpoint by local authorities.

Newly released police body camera footage shows the teens -  at the time ranging from ages 13 to 16 - being held at gunpoint and forcibly handcuffed on the ground during the July 2018 incident at Minnehaha Regional Park.

'We still deal with the fear and trauma of this incident, but part of the healing process is that we are getting justice,' Halimo Isse, mother to one of the boys, said to KSTP.
[.]
Each of the families will walk away with $40,000. The remaining money will go to the Minnesota chapter of the Council of American-Islamic Relations for their legal fees.

My First NHL 2019-2020 Season post.

In past years, I would have written something back in late September 2019 during NHL pre-season. Except for Sportnet's firing of Don Cherry in November 2019, I haven't written a word about the 2019-2020 NHL season. What took so long? Many of the teams I like aren't playing well. Some of the teams that are playing well - some of which I used to like - I now want to see them crushed.

Unless magic happens, (as it did for The Blues last season), currently the MN Wild aren't playing in the manner that brings home The Stanley Cup. We'll see if the Wild can shake off the bad juju and turn their game around over the next few months.

It's overdue, by a few seasons, that NHL Commish Bettman needs to go. He's held the position since 19fucking93. He did some good, some not-so-good. Step aside, Gary.

Related - Toronto Sun (December 2019): Hockey Night In Canada ratings fall after firing of Don Cherry. Only Sportnet and HNIC didn't see this coming.

Happy Hockey!

ABC’s Stephanopoulos trying to cut off the President’s lead counsel.

@ White House Twitter:

ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos was caught on air Friday gesturing to cut the network's feed of a press conference, as White House attorney Jay Sekulow was commenting on President Donald Trump's impeachment defense.
[.]
...Sekulow can be seen arguing that House Democrats have not met "basic fundamental Constitutional obligations" in their attempt to remove President Donald Trump from office in the ongoing impeachment trial in the Senate. As the attorney took another question from a reporter, the feed was cut and ABC returned to Stephanopoulos at the news desk, where he was actively making the throat-cutting signal to his crew.

As the Daily Wire's James Barrett beautifully described: "Realizing that his throat-slashing 'cut' gesture was caught on air, Stephanopoulos winced and offered a meek grin before rapidly moving on to a panel discussion on the latest developments in the trial. 'And that is Jay Sekulow right there,' says Stephanopoulos, still slightly grinning."

The video began circulating on social media as conservatives pointed to the timing of Stephanopoulos' cut and accused the anchor and his network of actively seeking to silence the defense of President Trump.
And then, there's this perfect gem, Via Rowell You Tube: Donald Trump Walks Out On CNN Interview For Being FAKE NEWS on March 29, 1990.

You Tube ends impeachment livestreams of Conservative organizations.

Two conservative outlets have complained that their livestreams of the Senate impeachment trial have been taken down —for no apparent reason.

Judicial Watch’s president, Tom Fitton, noted that the organization’s livestream of the impeachment trial was halted mid-stream. YouTube claimed that the stream was “violating ‘community standards,’” according to Fitton’s Jan. 21 tweet. While the stream still remains on Judicial Watch’s feed, it was not allowed to continue.
[.]
Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN) also tweeted that its livestream had been interrupted as well. At 3:54:41 in the video, the content ceased to stream.

Both of these streams simply followed the Jan. 21 Senate Impeachment Trial as it was happening.

YouTube’s “Restrictions on live streaming” states that “live streaming ability” would be shut off if a channel had a “Community Guidelines” strike, if the content had been blocked around the world, if there was a copyright takedown notice, or if it matched another copyrighted live broadcast. But none of these rules appear to have applied to the simple livestream of impeachment.
Find an alternative video host other than You Tube. There are many choices.

Hulu Hillary Documentary. And then, her candidacy?

She reflected on the public's perception of her career and life, dealt with in "Hillary," which is directed by Nanette Burstein and based on 35 hours of interviews with Clinton. (And water-boarding is defined as "torture"? Can you imagine being on crew, or...the film editor? - DD)

"I didn't do a good enough job to break through a lot of the perceptions that were out there," she said. "It was quite common (No it wasn't. - DD) for people who knew me … to shake their heads at the way I was portrayed." (Awwwww...The horror and indignity of it all; dirty deeds from the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. - DD)

And while she would "blow it off, brush it off," she said, "perhaps I could have and should have found ways to better present myself and deal with misperceptions that were out there," she said.
Yeah, Hillary's problem are the "misperceptions" about her. We don't know who she really is. We just don't know the real, loving, caring, wholesome, altruistic, ethical, moral, deeply faith-based Hillary. Lawdy, Lawday! The Hulu doc will change all of our minds and we'll recognize ourselves for the deplorables that we are. Has any other woman in history - ever - been so wronged?

Five Massive Asteroids Heading For Earth This Weekend.

NASA has warned that a total of five massive asteroids will approach Earth this weekend. According to the agency, the biggest asteroid in the group is larger than the Washington Monument.

The first asteroid that will fly close to Earth on Saturday has been identified by NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) as 2020 AH1. This asteroid is currently moving at an average speed of almost 18,000 miles per hour. CNEOS estimated that this asteroid is about 246 feet wide.

Trailing behind 2020 AH1 is an asteroid known as 2009 BH2. According to CNEOS, this asteroid measures about 656 feet wide, making it the largest space rock in the group. 2009 BH2 is currently flying towards Earth at a velocity of 40,000 miles per hour.

The last asteroid that will visit Earth’s vicinity on Saturday is called 2020 AQ3. It is traveling at a speed of about 28,000 miles per hour and has an estimated diameter of 360 feet.

All three asteroids will fly near Earth on Jan. 18. 2020 AH1 will arrive at 7:30 a.m. EST. It will approach the planet from a distance of 0.04048 astronomical units or roughly 3.8 million miles away. 2009 BH2, on the other hand, will fly past Earth from a distance of 0.03749 astronomical units or 3.5 million miles away.

As for 2020 AQ3, this asteroid will arrive at 4:07 p.m. EST. During this time, the asteroid will be about 0.04339 astronomical units or around 4 million miles from the planet’s center.

On Sunday, Earth will be visited by two asteroids. The first one is called 2020 AM3. It has a diameter of about 200 feet and is moving at a speed of 39,000 miles per hour.

Fucking hit the planet already, or quit the tease.

TSA "humiliates" Tara Houska, Native American woman. "Giddy Up!"

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has apologized to a Native American woman who was recently “humiliated” by an agent’s offensive treatment while passing through a security screening at Minneapolis−Saint Paul International Airport (MSP).

On Monday morning, attorney and Indigenous rights activist Tara Houska was traveling back to Bemidji through after attending the “Fire Drill Friday" climate change rally in Washington, D.C., over the weekend. While undergoing a routine security screening at MSP’s Terminal 1, Houska was shocked by the “dehumanizing” comments and behavior from a TSA agent, TravelPulse reported.

“The agent said she needed to pat down my braids. She pulled them behind my shoulders, laughed [and] said ‘giddy up!’ as she snapped my braids like reins,” Houska told her 32,000 Twitter followers. “My hair is part of my spirit. I am a Native woman. I am angry, humiliated. Your 'fun' hurt."

“When I informed the middle-aged blonde woman who had casually used her authority to dehumanize and disrespect me, she said, ‘Well it was just in fun, I’m sorry. Your hair is lovely,’” Houska continued in a separate tweet. “That is NOT an apology and it is NOT okay.”
[.]
A post on hair from the TSA blog confirms that the agency indeed has the authority “to pat-down anyone’s hair when needed, no matter their race or gender.” Approved methods include visual inspection, swabbing for explosives or a physical pat-down.

You’d be surprised what can be hidden in hair. The most notable things we’re looking for in hair are explosives and improvised explosives device components,” the TSA reports. “Any explosive amount could cause injury.”
I don't recall Ms. Houska objecting to, or concerned over, TSA procedures a year and a half ago when a 96-year old grandmother was subjected to an invasive and truly humiliating pat-down experience.

I don't recall Ms. Houska objecting to, or concerned over, TSA procedures when the TSA groped a 9-year old boy who wore a pacemaker.

I don't recall Ms. Houska objecting to, or concerned over, TSA procedures when the TSA groped a 3-year old girl in a wheelchair.

I don't recall Ms. Houska objecting to, or concerned over, TSA procedures when patting down a woman who had a prosthetic breast and a man with a colostomy bag malfunction.

I don't recall Ms. Houska objecting to, or concerned over, TSA procedures on this invasive and perverted "pat-down" of a young boy.

REMEMBER: YOU ARE WITHIN YOUR RIGHTS AND PERMITTED TO FILM TSA "PAT-DOWNS":

I'm no fan of handsy TSA agents, too many who appear to enjoy groping, molesting and humiliating children of all ages, elderly people and people of all ages in wheelchairs, during the "pat-down" procedure.

But don't ask me to sympathize with a Native American attorney who felt "humiliated and dehumanized" because her braided hair was examined and was then told what is an admittedly stupid comment of, "Giddy Up" by a TSA agent.

Where was Houska's outrage over so many past incidents of passengers being treated so disrespectfully by the TSA? Apparently those incidents didn't matter to her. It only mattered, and she only became concerned, when it came to her spiritual braids. TFB.

I shed no tear for Ms. Houska.

"Iron Eyes Cody", fake Native American, an actor playing a role.

"Giddy Up!" It's not just for Kramer anymore.

Illinois Trans Lieutenant Colonel Pritzker Rejects His Sex and Political Affiliation.

Lieutenant Colonel James Nicholas Pritzker—now known as “Jennifer Natalya” Pritzker—is trying to commandeer the Republican Party to serve the interests of the “trans” cult he officially joined in 2013.

A year ago Pritzker, a long-time RINO donor to GOP campaigns—often the campaigns of RINOs—who has the dubious distinction of being the world’s “only known trans billionaire,” threatened the GOP that if they didn’t climb aboard the “trans” train, he was piling all his buckets of ducats on it and chugging away. He’s making good on his threat.
[.]
Pritzker reversed his position on the GOP. He has now donated to the presidential campaign of Pete Buttigieg—another man who, like Pritzker, seeks to use power to advance sexual perversion.

Now Pritzker rejects both his sex and his political affiliation, thereby demonstrating that he cares more about his deviant sexual desires than fiscal matters, gun control, or defense.

Pritzker’s use of his checkbook to spread the toxic “trans” ideology isn’t limited to supporting Democrats and extorting the GOP.

Articles of Impeachment Delivered.

U.S. News World and World Report: Impeachment Arrives in the Senate.
House Democrats formally triggered the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump early Wednesday evening with a solemn ceremony and procession steeped in tradition that transmitted across the Capitol the two articles of impeachment finalized only minutes before.
Breitbart: Nancy Pelosi Uses More than a Dozen Commemorative Pens to Sign ‘Sad’ Articles of Impeachment.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) declared herself “sad” as she used more than a dozen commemorative pens to sign the two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Wednesday evening.

The occasion was “so sad, so tragic for our country,” Pelosi told reporters, noting the “difficult time in our country’s history.” She then approached a table that had been prepared with the documents, and two dishes full of pens for her to use — about half a dozen pens in each.

Pelosi then sat and signed the articles, one for “abuse of power” and one for “obstruction of Congress.” She applied each pen, paused every few seconds, switched pens, and then continued.

Some DEMS having their own Trump Peach Mint trophy pen so they can gloat? It'll make a nice reminder of another of their many political failures, follies, divisiveness, hatred, drama and inability to accept loss.

David Hogg mocked by social media for, "new year, new look."

Left-wing activist David Hogg is trying to work his way back into the spotlight, but changing his look isn’t earning him the kind of recognition he was thinking about.

While most people use the beginning of a new year to make some changes in their lives, Hogg’s attempt at a “new year, new me” tweet was panned by a fair few of the 2.5K comments as of this publishing.
The Tweet and all the mockery @ David Hogg. Much fun at the expense of The Survivor.

Feds arrest Avenatti. Buckle Up, Buttercup!

Avenatti's elevator ride with The Feds.

LOS ANGELES—Ex-Stormy Daniels lawyer and Trump antagonist Michael Avenatti was led out of the State Bar Court in Los Angeles by federal agents on Tuesday evening

The arrest occurred outside the disciplinary hearing in which the State Bar of California has accused the hard-charging, tough-talking attorney of using a doctored document to scam a client out of nearly $840,000, funneling money from a lawsuit settlement fund to his own personal use.

The State Bar of California, the official attorney licensing agency, has sought to put Avenatti on “involuntary inactive status,” setting in motion a timeline for disbarment proceedings.

During a break in testimony, members of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, who are prosecuting Avenatti in a separate criminal matter in Orange County, parleyed with Avenatti's team of lawyers and took the lawyer into custody.

"I understand that Mr. Avenatti has been arrested by the federal authorities for violating the terms of his release," said attorney Steven Bledsoe, who represents the alleged Avenatti victim in the State Bar case and was present when the arrest occurred.

Avenatti was taken into custody at around 6 p.m. PST.
Remember when Liberal sycophants, like Matthew "Buy Avenatti-Sell Oprah" Yglesias, deluded themselves into believing Avenatti would make the bestest president ever?

Feds arrest Avenatti. Feds arrest Avenatti. Feds arrest Avenatti. I never tire of reading that.

"Some President Retweeted something." Feelings were hurt.

@Down_Under Twitter:

President Donald Trump circulated a fake image on Monday depicting congressional Democrats’ top-ranked leaders in traditional Muslim attire in front of the Iranian flag, drawing criticism that he was promoting Islamophobic tropes.

The manipulated photo retweeted by Trump showed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in Muslim garb with the caption: “The corrupted Dems trying their best to come to the Ayatollah’s rescue #NancyPelosiFakeNews.” Trump, a Republican, had previously faulted Democrats for criticizing his administration’s targeted killing of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani, but his use of Muslim imagery as part of that effort drew pushback from Muslim American advocates.
[.]
The image that Trump retweeted has been circulating on the internet for a few days. The Twitter account that Trump got it from has a history of tweeting in both English and Persian about Iranian issues, promoting pro-Trump content and criticizing U.S. Democrats.

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham defended Trump’s retweet of the image, telling Fox News on Monday that the tweet was intended to show Democrats “have been parroting Iranian talking points, and almost taking the side of terrorists and those who were out to kill the Americans.”

The alleged faked imagery...a doctored, manipulated photo...on the Internet...this is something new, then?

Kentucky government will host first "Muslim Day" at state capitol on January 22.

Muslims from all over Kentucky will tour the building on January 22, meet with legislators, pray in the Rotunda, and receive training on how to advocate for issues affecting the Muslim community.
[.]
Waheeda Muhammad, chair of the Kentucky chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations, said one of the goals of the event is to clear up misconceptions about the Islamic faith.

“One thing that really helps is for people to know a Muslim one-on-one, and that’s part of encouraging Muslims to get out, to be involved in society, because if people know you personally, that’s their image of Islam,” Muhammad told WKU Public Radio.

She says the event will encourage Muslims to get involved in government, including running for office.

Muslim visitors also plan to advocate for certain legislation, including stronger anti-bullying laws.  The group has invited Governor Andy Beshear to meet with them.  Muhammad says Muslim Day at the State Capitol is not government-sanctioned and no taxpayer funds are being used.  She hopes it will become an annual event.

Wind Turbine Blades Dumped In Landfills: 50,000 Tons Of Non-Recyclable Toxic Garbage.

Funny, no one seemed to consider what to do with the massive amount of wind turbine blades once they reached the end of their lifespan.  Thus, the irony of the present-day Green Energy Movement is the dumping of thousands of tons of “non-recyclable” supposedly renewable wind turbine blades in the country’s landfills.

Who would have thought? What’s even worse, is that the amount of wind turbine blades slated for waste disposal is forecasted to quadruple over the next fifteen years as a great deal more blades reach their 15-20 year lifespan.
[.]
Hundreds of giant windmill blades are being shipped to a landfill in Wyoming to be buried because they simply can’t be recycled.  Local media reports several wind farms in the state are sending over 900 un-reusable blades to the Casper Regional Landfill to be buried. While nearly 90 percent of old or decommissioned wind turbines, like the motor housing, can be refurbished or at least crushed, fiberglass windmill blades present a problem due to their size and strength.
[.]
Wyoming isn’t the only landfill accepting worn-out wind turbine blades. They are also being dumped in IOWA and SOUTH DAKOTA [sic].
[.]
The wind turbine blades are a toxic amalgam of unique composites, fiberglass, epoxy, polyvinyl chloride foam, polyethylene terephthalate foam, balsa wood, and polyurethane coatings.
We won't ever have to worry about these toxins seeping into water supplies because that could never happen.

X-Rated movie plays on Michigan highway billboard.

Two teenagers have been held accountable for causing a pornographic video to be displayed on an electronic billboard located alongside a highway in Michigan, police said Friday.

Authorities in Auburn Hills said that a 16-year-old from South Lyon and an 18-year-old from Sterling Heights admitted their involvement in an X-rated stunt that stunned drivers.

The incident unfolded on the evening of September 28, 2019, when police received multiple calls from motorists about porn being played on a billboard alongside Interstate 75.
[.]
The teens entered the shed through an unlocked door and spent around 15 minutes inside, The Detroit Free Press reported. Once started, the pornographic video played on the billboard for around 15 to 20 minutes before being stopped.

“That is unclear how exactly they thought about this or why they chose this, other than you can obviously see a shed underneath the sign and maybe curiosity piqued their interest whether or not they could get in, maybe that ran the billboard,” [said Auburn Police Department Lt. Ryan Gagnon].
We have to ask ourselves...which cinematic masterpiece within the genre of adult entertainment the teens' chose?

Raise the New York beer tax, suggests Brooklyn DEM Harvey Epstein.

It may be one of the few taxes in which New York state’s bite doesn’t rank among the nation’s highest.

Now, some New York City lawmakers want to more than double the state’s beer excise tax to provide more money for the State University of New York system.

The excise tax, paid by beer distributors, is currently 14 cents per gallon. Bills introduced ahead of the upcoming State Legislature session would raise that to 30 cents per gallon (that matches the state’s current excise tax on wine).
[.]
The Assembly sponsor of the bill, Brooklyn Democrat Harvey Epstein, estimates the increased beer tax would boost the state’s revenues from about $45 million to $96 million per year.
[.]
[Said Paul Leone, executive director of the New York State Brewers Association], “It doesn’t make sense to increase the tax on a successful industry that is still growing to support another." [...] “This tax on business will absolutely cost jobs and slow the industry,” he said.

Iran announced Saturday that its military ‘unintentionally’ shot down a Ukrainian jetliner, killing all 176 aboard.

The statement came Saturday morning and blamed “human error” for the shootdown.
Two days ago: NY Daily NewsIran denies shooting down Ukrainian jet, calling rumors ‘psychological warfare’.
The Iranian military strongly denied blowing a Ukrainian airliner out of the sky after the plane crashed shortly after takeoff Wednesday morning, killing all 176 people aboard just hours after Iran fired ballistic missiles at U.S. airbases in Iraq.

[A] spokesman for the Iranian armed forces quickly shot down those rumors, calling them “psychological warfare” by the government’s opponents.

Gas-powered lawn equipment ban proposed in Santa Maria.

California regulators have proposed a ban on the sale of gas-powered landscaping equipment, worrying Santa Maria Valley landscapers who say the move would impact their ability to serve their clients.

State regulators with the California Air Resources Board said they plan to ask board members to sign off on a plan by the end of the year to gradually reduce the emissions from items like lawn mowers and leaf blowers to zero.

The move is an important one to reduce air pollution, said Karen Caesar, a spokeswoman for the board.

Caesar said the work put into reducing pollution from car engines hasn’t translated at the same level for lawn mowers, and that the devices often emit more harmful gases than cars.

According to CARB, running the best-selling leaf blower for one hour releases as much smog-forming pollution as driving a 2017 Toyota Camry from Los Angeles to Denver.
[.]
When you’re talking about mowing a school, an electric piece of equipment to mow an area that big doesn’t exist,” he said. “You’d have to change 12 batteries to mow one grass area — that’s insane,” [said Neil Towery, general manager of All Weather Landscape Maintenance in Santa Maria].

Ernie Torres, who owns PJD Landscape Management, said electrical equipment wouldn't be practical for commercial landscapers.

Squirrels never liked us. Cause $700 in Jeep damages.

WINDSOR, Colo. - A Windsor man is out hundreds of dollars after squirrels broke into his car three times in a matter of weeks. Each time, the squirrels chewed through wires that left him unable to drive his Jeep.

Gary Seago says he first noticed the problem toward the end of November.

"I started it up and it was going 'chug, chug, chug' and I thought something's wrong," said Seago.

Seago took his car to the shop and learned a fuel injector plug was chewed in half. Mechanics told him the culprit was likely a squirrel. Many tubes and wires in vehicles are soy-based, which can attract rodents.

The squirrels didn't stop there. The following morning, Seago says the exact same part was once again chewed. And weeks later, they were able to destroy an even more expensive part under the hood.

"It's like they weren't going to stop doing it. They were going to continue to try to make a home of my Jeep," said Seago.

Seago has had to find a way to fund the squirrels' expensive habit. The repairs have totaled roughly $700. Living on a fixed income and without full car insurance, Seago says he can't afford another repair.

"I have doctor's appointments and things I need to go to and I can't be without transportation," said Seago.

He has tried a number of tactics to keep the rodents away. Seago placed moth balls under the hood and also installed a device that uses high-pitched noise and strobe lights to keep them away. He says the deterrents seem to be working, but worries they won't fix the problem permanently. Seago says his neighbor is also experiencing a similar problem.

"It isn't like they're going to do it once and you get your car fixed and everything is OK. Obviously, they continue to get into wherever they can and be destructive," said Seago.
A suggested solution, enticed with a nice, aromatic, tasty, soy-based entree:
