JoNova: Electric regret: Almost half of Australian and US EV owners want to go back to a combustion engine.

Nearly half of American owners of electric cars want to switch back to traditional cars powered by internal combustion engines, according to a consumer survey released by McKinsey and Co. earlier this month.

How much longer can the saviours of the world keep trying to force this dead-horse “transition” upon us?

The car manufacturers surely realize they are being forced into a financial dead end.

EPA overestimating range of EVs. They're unreliable.

Kelly Blue Book - Study: EPA-Certified Range Figures for EVs Unreliable.

EPA ratings are optimistic for most electric models.

A new study suggests that the ranges and fuel economy equivalent figures published by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are not particularly accurate. [  Shocking! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - Oh well...DD ]

If the EPA’s numbers are off, we should note, then the rest of the world has it even worse. EPA range figures are famously lower than those published by many other governments.

SAE International, a global association of engineers and related technical experts in the aerospace, automotive, and commercial vehicle industries, used data from tests performed by Car and Driver to study real-world EV ranges.

In a 75 mph highway test, Car and Driver found that “more than 350 internal-combustion vehicles averaged 4.0 percent better fuel economy than what was stated on their labels. But the average range for an EV was 12.5 percent worse than the price sticker numbers.”

Fire crews use 6,000 gallons of water to extinguish burning Tesla Model S whose battery spontaneously combusted.

Or, 4,500 gallons of water; the story mentions both amounts.

Daily Mail: California fire crews use SIX THOUSAND gallons of water to extinguish burning Tesla Model S whose battery spontaneously combusted while driving down busy freeway.

* Fire officials said that nothing was wrong with the car before it combusted.
* Approximately 6,000 gallons of water was used to extinguish the blaze.
[.]
It is unclear what caused the blaze,[.]
[.]
Firefighters arrived at the wrecking yard to find the Tesla fully engulfed in flames. Each time the firefighters attempted to extinguish the flames, the Tesla's battery would reignite the fire.

The fire department posted an Instagram video of the ordeal, saying that even when firefighters moved the Tesla onto its side to spray the battery directly, the car would burst into flames again 'due to the residual heat.'

Eventually, the firefighters dug a pit near the Tesla and moved the burning car into it and then filled the pit with water, 'effectively submerging the battery compartment.'

The technique worked, and the fire department was able to put out the fire with no injuries and 4,500 gallons of water used - about the same amount of water used for a building fire.

Fires generated from electric vehicles can be especially hazardous, as they generate over 100 organic chemicals including some potentially fatal toxic gasses like carbon monoxide and hydrogen cyanide.

Hazardous chemicals and fatal toxic gasses are good for the environment! 👍

Biden’s Secret Service rental vehicles burst into flames after he left Nantucket vacation.

FOX News: Biden’s Secret Service rental vehicles burst into flames after he left Nantucket vacation.

President Biden's rented Secret Service vehicles burst into flames in a parking lot Monday, just one day after he left his Nantucket vacation.
[.]
The Secret Service rented five vehicles from Hertz to carry the president and his family, and all five of them caught fire in the parking lot, according to footage first obtained by the Nantucket Current.

Footage shows firefighters spraying down the smoldering remains of one vehicle's engine block. The five vehicles included a Chevy Suburban, Ford Explorer, Infiniti QX80, Ford Expedition, and a Jeep Gladiator.

The vehicles were parked at the Nantucket airport and the blaze reportedly spread to just 40 feet away from the facility's jet fuel tanks. It is currently unknown what caused the fire. Fox News reached out to the  White House for information, but they did not immediately respond.

Biden will blame these fires on his usual go-to perps: Trump, Putin or Climate Change. The truth is probably these vehicles did a self-sacrifice and self-combusted to cleanse themselves of Biden Cooties.

Here's a speculative response from an anonymous message board:

Biden molested three children in Nantucket over Thanksgiving.

Then the secret service torched Biden's cards [sic] (meant "cars") to hide the DNA evidence.

You can't make this stuff up.

Start looking at missing persons reports in the Nantucket area.

Trudeau installing weapons armouries, interrogation rooms for Ministry of Climate Change.

Counter Signal - EXCLUSIVE LEAK: Trudeau installing weapons armouries, interrogation rooms for Ministry of Climate Change.

The Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is building a new facility in Winnipeg that will be home to a firearms armoury, interrogation rooms, biological labs, media relations offices, “controlled quiet rooms,” and intelligence facilities.

The plans, which were drawn up by a firm in Winnipeg, open a window into Trudeau’s future plans for Climate Enforcement.

Down the hall from the proposed “Firearms Storage” rooms are several evidence rooms, interrogation suites, and adjacent recording rooms.

According to a recently posted Indeed.com ad, the Ministry is searching to recruit a battalion of Climate “Pollution” Officers, a unit within the coldly named “Environmental Enforcement Directorate.”

If you emit too much carbon or use too much fertilizer, you may just be on the Climate Communists’ hit list.

The entire facility that was leaked to The Counter Signal is sketched to be over 50,000 square feet, will house hundreds of ECCC staff, and will also be home to weather forecasting staff.

Hit the link, it's an incredible story.

Castro would be proud of his boy. Any visitors from Canada that want to drop a comment on this?

Poll reflects more Americans worried about energy costs and availability. SHOCKING!

The Hill (via Yahoo): More Americans worried about energy costs, availability.

More Americans are concerned about the availability and affordability of energy now than they have been in a decade, according to a new survey from Gallup.

The poll found that 47 percent of Americans had a great deal of concern over the cost and availability of energy. Meanwhile, 30 percent said they worry a fair amount, 17 percent said only a little and 5 percent said not at all.

One year ago, 37 percent of people had a great deal of concern about energy. That figure has more than doubled since 2020, when 22 percent of Americans had a great deal of concern about the issue, Gallup reported.

Similar levels of concern over energy have not been seen since 2012, when 48 percent said they worried about energy costs a great deal, according to the survey giant.

Gallup's poll also found more people found the energy situation in the U.S. to be very serious.

Specifically, 44 percent of U.S. adults said the situation was "very serious." Another 46 percent called it "fairly serious" and 10 percent said it was "not at all serious." Last year, 32 percent of respondents described the situation as very serious.

Berkeley misses electricity. Life without fossil fuels.

Berkeleyside: Berkeley Hills goes dark.
Power went out starting at 11 p.m. Wednesday[.]

Power started to go out around Berkeley around 11 p.m. PG&E’s outage map shows about 3,500 homes and businesses without power, which means many thousand more than that don’t have working electricity.
[.]
[A] resourceful Berkeley resident, Patrick Buechner, couldn’t live without his morning coffee so he set up his camping stove to boil water.
Everyone is, of course, blaming PG&E.

Cali Gov DEM Gavin Newsom is mostly concerned with the wineries. The Sacramento Bee - Newsom ‘outraged’ by PG&E blackouts, but says they’re needed:
Most of the outages are in the hills ringing the Sacramento Valley and the state’s wine country where Newsom, who made his fortune in the wine business, noted that his wineries are in the midst of grape crushing season and desperate for power.

“I’d rather criticize Donald Trump than act like him, talking about my businesses in Northern California, but we’re in the middle of wine crush and folks are running around trying to get generators right now,” he said. “It’s very consequential.”
Desperate for power? What about relying on the wonderful, clean, green solar and wind turbine energy?

Criticizing is easy. Finding solutions to problems? Not as easy.

Californians may find themselves without electricity for extended periods of time, but they can rest well knowing they've solved the problems of plastic straws and little shampoo bottles from hotels. Maybe the rolling power outages are The Revenge of The Plastic Straws and Monster Shampoo Bottles.

Electricity...is soooooo 1980's...
