Electric regret: Almost half of Australian and US EV owners want to go back to a combustion engine.

JoNova: Electric regret: Almost half of Australian and US EV owners want to go back to a combustion engine.

Nearly half of American owners of electric cars want to switch back to traditional cars powered by internal combustion engines, according to a consumer survey released by McKinsey and Co. earlier this month.

How much longer can the saviours of the world keep trying to force this dead-horse “transition” upon us?

The car manufacturers surely realize they are being forced into a financial dead end.

California landfills now filled with junked solar panels.

LA Times (Yahoo Archived): California went big on rooftop solar. Now that's a problem for landfills.

California has been a pioneer in pushing for rooftop solar power, building up the largest solar market in the U.S. More than 20 years and 1.3 million rooftops later, the bill is coming due.

Beginning in 2006, the state, focused on how to incentivize people to take up solar power, showered subsidies on homeowners who installed photovoltaic panels but had no comprehensive plan to dispose of them. Now, panels purchased under those programs are nearing the end of their typical 25-to-30-year life cycle.

Many are already winding up in landfills, where in some cases, they could potentially contaminate groundwater with toxic heavy metals such as lead, selenium and cadmium.

Sam Vanderhoof, a solar industry expert and chief executive of Recycle PV Solar, says that only 1 in 10 panels are actually recycled[.]
[.]
“The industry is supposed to be green,” Vanderhoof said. “But in reality, it’s all about the money.”

But-but-but...wind turbines will be better than solar panels, then, right? No.

Rich Old People Need To Die: Part Two

Average reading time (including video; excluding links: 2m

In Part One I listed six rich and/or rich and old people who need to die because they are taking more from taxpayers. MSN.com:
The richest people in the U.S. aren’t just getting several years of extra life, they’re also reaping a financial reward for their longevity – courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer.
I don't wish for any of them to die, it's simply incumbent of them. It is the point of the above story which matters; that the rich actually consume more natural resources and are a financial drain on EVERYONE.

And so many of these people are those who tell us the world is overpopulated and that natural resources are incredibly limited - well, they're the ones who should lead by example, shouldn't they?

I'm not advocating anyone attempt to hasten the death of anyone else; only that Sudden Cardiac Death or a Lightening Bolt is appropriate for any one of these rich, old people.

What I noticed in Part One is that the six people I featured are all Liberals. Another trend is that they are ALL WHITE MALES! O.M.G!

So, here are six more who really need to exit spaceship earth. They're too old and rich to hang around any longer. They are a burden on the taxpayers. They've used more than their fair share of oxygen.

Albert Gore, Jr. , 69 years old and worth $300 Million.

Gore's Carbon Footprint is gigantic. He's burned more fossil fuels than I don't know how many families added up. Hypocrite.

György Schwartz, aka George Soros. Age 87. Worth $ 25 Billion.

One of Soros' homes. I wonder how many refugees he's invited in; living on the premises?

Murray Rothstein, aka Sumner Redstone. Age 94. Worth $ 4.9 Billion.

Jay Rockefeller,  80. Worth $160 Million.

Steve Ballmer. Only 61 but worth Over $ 31 Billion.  Ballmer lands in the Exception To The Rule; Amount of Wealth Nullifies Age.

Diane Whinestein,  84; Worth $ 80 Million.

Oh yeah...BIG TREND. So far, with both Part One and Part Two, we have 11 RICH WHITE MEN and one RICH OLD WHITE LADY. Hmmmmmmm.

C'mon folks...lead by example; for "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."

Environmentalists Seek to Starve Wild Elk

Those wacky, animal loving hating, earth loving EnviroTards are at it again.

I wonder if these are the same kind of people who made death threats to Knut, the German polar bear cub?

You remember Knut...the adorable polar bear cub that animal rights' activists wanted to KILL?

Knut,
December 5, 2006 – March 19, 2011

Well, make way, here come The Elk Haters. Courthouse News Service:
Four conservation groups claim in court the U.S. Forest Service’s approval of a revised permit to allow the continued feeding of wild elk in Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest is endangering the herd and elevating its risk of getting and spreading a chronic wasting disease.

In a June 5 complaint filed in Washington, the Sierra Club, Wyoming Wildlife Advocates, Western Watersheds Project and the Gallatin Wildlife Association say that the negative effects of feeding the wild elk hay in centralized locations are well-known. [ Yet, in the story, these wildlife "associations" are unable to articulate any specific study or research; or link and causation, for their not wanting the elk to be fed. - D.D. ]

Artificial feeding stretches back to the early 1900s and continues today to discourage wild elk from pillaging privately-owned haystacks on private land, the 28-page complaint notes.
And...
There is no trace of lethal chronic wasting disease in the Jackson elk herd yet, but it has been found in deer about 40 miles away. If it reaches the herd, the conservation groups say the disease could contaminate and devastate the entire ecosystem.
“Although the specific mode of transmission has not been identified[...]
Don't you just love the lack of synapse firing and the illogical reasoning used by EnviroTards and their lawyers?

"There is no wasting disease......YET!" How can these groups claim the feeding is, "endangering the herd and elevating its risk of getting and spreading a chronic wasting disease," WHEN THEY DO NOT YET KNOW?!?!?

And while they "haven't identified the mode of transmission...they suspect it has something to do with Mercury being in retrograde during a full moon when, and only when, a rising sign is in the House of Jupiter on an odd numbered day in a neighborhood when you can only water your lawn on an even numbered day. See addendum on how to deal with this during Leap Years." Then, and ONLY THEN, can the feeding of wildlife be permitted that would not be available if not for humans providing it.

Image via: imgarcade.com

I'm not against NOT feeding wild animals. Doing so can bring a dependence on artificial feeding that is not natural for any wildlife.

But here's the trade off: I deer hunt. Well, not so much anymore, but I did for years and so did my Dad, brothers, uncles, friends and many others.

Inevitably during deer season someone would say, "oh, it's so sad to shoot a deer."

Well, would you rather have one starve to death? Because one reason states have hunting seasons on certain species is, in part, preventing overpopulation.

What about you, Mister, Misses and "Mizz" EnviroTard? Would you rather starve to death or know you could be put out of your misery by the shot of a rifle?
The conservation groups accuse the U.S. Forest Service of violating the National Environmental Policy Act by discounting the danger of lethal chronic wasting disease, failing to consider alternatives, precluding public comments before signing off on the extended permit, and ignoring the 2007 Bison and Elk Management Plan.
No one knows if chronic wasting disease (CWD) has infected, or will infect, the elk. This is so incredibly typical of the EnviroTard Liberal mindset:  Although the EnviroTards have no conclusive proof of - in this case CWD - interject a solution not only where one may not be needed, but where any reason to do so is unknown, or at the very best, inconclusive. Kind of sounds like the global warming climate change crowd, doesn't it?

You know who wins in a case like this? The lawyers.

You know who has the most potential to lose? The Elk.

This incessant obsession with (some) humans to interject a human element into something that should run a natural, non-human course called Nature is what, in the past, has shown to fail over and over again.

I'd like to see the Elk and the EnviroTards trade places. Imagine, you're driving on a road in a rural area and you see a group of EnviroTards gaunt and starving in a field. They have nothing to eat because U.S. Wildlife and the Forest Service are banned from feeding them. Damn, how do we make this happen?

Global Warming takes a Hiatus

So that's why the temperature has been so enjoyable lately. News is here that Global Warming is on Hiatus. Red Orbit:
While scientists are in near-universal agreement that climate change is a thing and that humans played a significant role in causing it to happen, there is one area that has caused some confusion and fueled climate skeptics – the so-called warming “hiatus” that lasted from 1998 to 2012.

Now, however, new research published online this week in the journal Nature has attempted to provide answers by explaining that part of the confusion stemmed from short-term changes, the amount of unaccounted for heat stored in oceans, and incomplete observational data.
It's not RedOrbit's error, they're just reporting the story. But the above-linked story offers numerous examples where research data was excluded, missing, not known, unavailable and overlooked.

However, while the above unknown quantities remain unknown...
...lead researcher Dr. Iselin Medhaug of the Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science at ETH Zurich and his colleagues explained [they will] they set out to reconcile those discrepancies.
While those "discrepancies" are being reconciled, the report remains adamant that humans are to blame:
...the authors wrote[...] “Combined with stronger recent warming trends in newer datasets, we are now more confident than ever that human influence is dominant in long-term warming.”
Did I miss the day that satire was introduced into science's academic curriculum?

"There's absolutely no doubt that humans contribute to global warming."

"Oops. We forgot to include a bunch of research."

"Well, we checked again and made sure we had all the data this time and we're certain human influence is contributing to long-term warming."

What is the definition of long-term warming? How can that possibly be predicted when no one can tell us what our local weather will be ten days out from today?

How does one even begin to calculate global warming being on hiatus? "Global warming on hiatus" has to be the most stupid, idiotic grouping of words I've ever read.

Does "Global Cooling" take hiatus also? Where does it go on vacation? Some place warm?

Were not the seacoast cities, by now, to have been wiped off the shoreline according to the Great Climatologist Albert Gore, Junior?

People once thought the earth was flat. Some still believe that.

Rich Old People Need To Die: Part One

Rich, old people need to die. Why? Because research indicates wealthy rich people live longer and suck up more of everything - from money to natural resources -  from the taxpayer. MSN.com:
The richest people in the U.S. aren’t just getting several years of extra life, they’re also reaping a financial reward for their longevity – courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer.
Is anyone really surprised that the wealthy use more natural resources and have access to the very best medical care, and they are living longer? It's time many wealthy and/or aging-wealthy folks set an example and cease living. It's for the Earth...Mother Earth! It's For the Children, Dear god, think of the Children.

These folks seem to have overstayed their welcome.

Michael Bloomberg  75 years old and $47.5 BILLION.

Robert Redford "only" $ 170 Million. But he's 80! And Rich!

Ted Turner, $2.2 Billion. 78 years old. Gotta go Ted. You said yourself in 2012 that world population must be reduced by 5 billion. Be a Leader, show us what it takes. Take a dose of your own medicine, Ted. Are there any high, dangerous bridges near where you live? Any nearby electrical power substations you could grab onto some high voltage coils? At age 78, I just want to be helpful to Ted.

Jeff Bezos.  $76 Billion. Makes Bloomberg look lower middle class, huh? Only 53 but in his case age nullified by extreme wealthiness. Jeff, time to go bye bye.

Warren Buffet, $ 75 Billion. AGE 86! Buffet has exhausted his "fair use" of oxygen and all other natural resources. And with $ 75 Billion?  Warren, seek the Exit Sign.

Another Warren...Beatty. $ 70 Million. And 80 years old.
Need I say more?

Huh, so far all of these are Liberals. Hmmmm.

FLUORESCENT PUPPIES

I'd forgotten all about my You Tube Channel, and videos  I had made, while I was publishing the old blog, until somebody reminded me of them.

So...I thought I'd rerun one of my favorites:  "FLUORESCENT PUPPIES".

I made this when those damn pig tail-curled fluorescent "bulbs" were being so heavily pushed into the market by the Earth and Tree Lovers as being "so much better for the environment". Fcuk that.
