"Tentative agreement" reached to avoid US rail strike.

BBC (MSN Archived): White House strikes deal to avert US rail strike.

U.S. freight rail companies and unions representing their workers have reached a "tentative agreement" to avert the first national rail strike in 30 years.

The agreement, which was announced early on Thursday, ensures that a strike that had been due to begin after midnight on Friday will no longer take place.

The deal includes a 24% wage increase and $5,000 bonuses, as well as changes to existing policies on time off which had been a crucial sticking point for workers.

[Biden said], "We reached an agreement that will keep our critical rail system working and avoid disruptions of our economy[.]"

A disruption in our economy? Well, we don't want disruptions in our fantastic booming economy. Bidenomics! Build Back Better! Woo-Hoo!

U.S.Rail strike update.

The Gazette (Archived): National rail strike could cripple supply chain.

Little sign of progress has been seen ahead of a potential massive walkout beginning this Friday, after freight railroads and labor unions that represent more than 90,000 workers have held talks to try to avoid a strike that could cost the U.S. economy more than $2 billion a day.

A national rail strike, effective 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time Friday, would threaten shipments of grains, fertilizer and energy when global food prices are elevated and inflation ripples through economies.

NBC News (Archived): Supply chain concerns grow as deadline for freight rail strike looms.

A 30-day moratorium that has so far forestalled a strike is set to end Friday for members of the two largest U.S. freight rail unions, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, or BLET, and SMART Transportation Division.

Biden can no longer freeze negotiations to avert a strike.

Business Insider (MSN Archived): Amtrak is canceling trains as railroad unions prepare to strike, throwing the rail network into chaos.

Amtrak suspended some of its most storied and picturesque routes on Tuesday in preparation for an impending rail worker strike that could further upend supply chains and damage the US economy.

Maybe you thought Biden and his Handlers are nearing the end of ruining the U.S. and global economies, the Western standards of living and things couldn't get any worse? Oh no, not by a long shot.
