Some Minnesota Churches to defy Gov Walz and open for services.

Post Bulletin (via Archive): Minnesota restaurants, bars and salons get June 1 date to reopen, churches to hold services against state orders.
Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka, R-East Gull Lake, said he was "dumbfounded" at the governor's move to allow restaurants, bars and salons to reopen, but not letting churches reopen.

"I see no reason why churches are any more dangerous a place for coronavirus transmission than Walmart or a mall," Gazelka said. "If you can get a haircut, shop at a mall, or eat at a restaurant, you should be able to go to church.”
[.]
But faith leaders on Wednesday said that wasn't good enough. In a statement, leaders of the Minnesota Catholic Conference and the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod in Minnesota said they would hold services beginning next week despite state orders restricting gatherings to 10 people or fewer.

“Darkness and despair have taken hold of so many of our fellow Americans in the face of the economic and social hardship of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Archbishop Bernard Hebda said. “Faith has always been a source of comfort and strength and now more than ever it is of the utmost importance that we are able to meet the spiritual needs of our community.”

If businesses and restaurants can reopen at limited capacity, churches ought to be able to as well, faith leaders said.
Walz is really enjoying his newfound tyranny. Any why wouldn't he? He's still getting paid.

Do any image search on Tim Walz, you'll see he hasn't missed any meals. He's not worried about meals next week, let alone tomorrow. He hasn't had to worry about paying the mortgage or rent. His utilities are all paid. His transportation and travel is provided and funded. He doesn't worry about how he'll pay for healthcare and insurance. All of this, paid by taxpayers. Why, it's like he's not living in reality.

Flashback 2017: Tim Walz calls rural, conservative, Red Minnesota, "rocks and cows."

HOA removes graduation signs. Homeowners upset.

Homeowners are upset after their homeowners association in their Mission Viejo, California neighborhood removed graduation signs from the front yards of students.

"We put it up and we're so excited. You walk around your neighborhood and get excited to see which school each of the seniors are from. There's 5th graders that are graduating from elementary school and the 8th graders," said graduating senior Sofia Muratalla.

But, she says, disappointment set in when families saw all the signs had been taken.

"They either walked around and took them down or had the security company do it," said one neighbor, who later learned the HOA confirmed the signs were taken down because they violated association rules. His 11-year-old's son was also removed. "It's just ridiculous. Cold and cruel and we should be coming together as a community right now not finding ways to pick fights," he said.

The HOA told California media outlet KCAL that the signs would be returned to homeowners at their request.
"Cold and Cruel"...the number one tactic and principle of all HOAs.

Maybe the California HOA took their cue from Tiny Fascist David Stewart.

Glass panel, too big for elevator...let's try it anyway. What could go wrong?

This is the moment three men in Vietnam tried to take a large glass sheet into a lift only for it to shatter when one of them let go of the open door button.

The video of the disastrous lift ride was posted on social media on May 17.

A man in a white shirt enters the lift before a second man in a black shirt follows him and places a large glass sheet on the floor outside the lift doors.
[.]
...the doors shut with one end of the sheet still sitting the other side of the threshold. A third man is left outside.

The man in the white shirt is unable to reopen the doors and the lift starts descending, forcing the glass up.

The sheet gets caught and sends a cloud of dust into the lift.

CDC backtracks: now says Covid-19 DOESN'T spread easily on contaminated surfaces. It's SCIENCE!

The language is a subtle change from the organization’s warning in early March, when it wrote simply that it “may be possible” to spread the virus through contaminated surfaces.
"...a SUBTLE change..." SUBTLE? Which CDC is this? The one with Anthony Fauci as their spokesman? His analysis of the degree of a health threat from the Coronavirus to America from January through April certainly (cough, cough, ahem...) evolved.

I'll flip a phrase so embraced by Never-Trumpers: "Are there any ADULTS in the room of the CDC?"

Alvin's in Kentucky: Those wearing masks Shall Not Pass!

A Kentucky convenience store told customers to take off their face masks or “go somewhere else” — but later did an about-face when called out for the controversial message.

A photo of the sign outside Alvin’s in Manchester was shared Monday on Facebook by a man who said he wanted to “spread their shame” by publicizing the business’ call to flout Gov. Andy Beshear’s mask guidance, intended to curb the spread of the coronavirus, the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.

No face masks allowed in store,” the pink sign read. “Lower your mask or go somewhere else! Stop listening to Beshear. He’s a dumbass.”

Instead, the shopper’s post — which was shared more than 3,800 times — prompted some Facebook users to call him a “snitch,” and others said they saw the sign as a “patriotic statement.”

“If I didn’t live so far away, I would do all my shopping here,” another man wrote. “Finally somebody with same dang common sense.”

The store, however, later changed its message, saying it would not turn away customers who are wearing face coverings.

“We are not telling you to not wear a mask,” Alvin’s wrote Tuesday on Facebook. “What we are saying is, [it’s] your choice to wear one or not, not our [government’s] choice for us. While some got the meaning behind it, [a lot] did not.”

The sign was not intended to “offend anyone,” according to Tuesday’s post.
[.]
The sign, meanwhile, has led some to consider making a 60-minute drive just to pick up lunch there.

DO NOT APOLOGIZE FOR ANYTHING,” one reply read. “We are planning a road trip just to eat at your place.

California first relief fund of its kind: financial support to Undocumented Immigrants.

Starting today, undocumented immigrants in California can begin applying for financial assistance to support them during the coronavirus pandemic — in the first relief fund of its kind.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the $125 million coronavirus disaster relief fund last month to support undocumented immigrants who were ineligible for federal stimulus checks and unemployment benefits due to their immigration status.
[.]
I’m not here to suggest that $125 million is enough. But I am here to suggest it’s a good start, and I’m very proud it’s starting here in the state of California,” [said Newsom].
A paltry $125 Mill? It's just the beginning.

Amy Klobuchar, hypocrite and liar. Why is she so dismissive of allegations Joe Biden sexually assaulted Tara Reade?

It's different when the person accused of sexual harassment is a Democrat, isn't it, Amy? Why does Amy support Joe Biden but not Tara Reade? Why was Amy so venomous to go after Brent Kavanaugh but all Joe Biden has to say is, "I dindunuffin," and that's sufficient for Amy?

Why isn't Amy Klobuchar giving Tara Reade the same respect she insisted be given to Dr. Christine Ford? You'd have to ask Amy:

@ MSNBC Twitter

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) stated that the misconduct allegation against 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden “has been investigated.”

Klobuchar said, “He has said, and I agree with this, you’ve got to get to the bottom of every case and all allegations. I think the New York Times — I haven’t read all the stories. I read that one. Your viewers should read that. It was very thorough. They interviewed people. And I have done a lot of work on this. I actually led the effort to change the rules in the U.S. Senate so that it is easier to bring these cases forward and so that we have taxpayers not paying for bad conduct. I think this case has been investigated. I know the vice president as a major leader on domestic abuse, I worked with him on that. And I think that, again, the viewers should read the article. It was very thorough.”
"Viewers should read the article. It was very thorough." A total lie from Klobuchar. They NYT never formed anything conclusive in their story about Tara Reade's allegation that Joe Biden forcibly and sexually assaulted her.

CLAIM #3: There has never even been a “hint” or “rumor” of similar behavior from Biden “ever” in history.

VERDICT: False.
Klobuchar doesn't care about women being abused unless it helps further the Liberal Political Narrative or if it can be used as a smear tactic against any political opponent.

Klobuchar still thinks she's got a shot at being Biden's running mate. She can dream on in her own little snow-globe world. I still maintain Biden won't be the candidate. He'll drop out citing, "health concerns."

Georgia man allegedly had sex with woman’s corpse outside homeless shelter.

Kenny Obyran Whitehead, 55, was taken into custody on a necrophilia charge at about 4 a.m. Sunday outside of the Daybreak Day Resource Center in Macon, where deputies responded to a report of two people having sex on the building’s front steps, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

“When deputies arrived they found the two having intercourse,” department officials said in a statement. “After the male was asked to get dressed, it was discovered that the female was unresponsive.”

Paramedics later determined that the woman – who was not immediately identified – had been deceased for “some time,” sheriff officials said.
[.]
Whitehead, of Macon, has been ordered held without bond. He remained in custody Monday on the necrophilia charge, as well as a probation violation, online records show.
UPDATE: AJC -  Necrophilia suspect now faces rape, murder charges, Middle Georgia cops say.
Days after a man was charged with defiling a woman’s corpse in Middle Georgia, authorities said he murdered and raped the woman.

Kenny Obyran Whitehead, 55, faces murder and rape charges in addition to a necrophilia charge, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Due to the nature of the incident, the sheriff’s office said it will not be releasing the victim’s name.

Michigan Sheriffs won't be writing tickets, enforcing Whitmer's orders.

Detroit Free Press: Genesee County sheriff: 'Don't expect us' to write tickets enforcing Whitmer's order.
Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson implied he would not strictly enforce Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's stay-at-home order.

Swanson spoke with Detroit radio personality Charlie LeDuff on "No BS News Hour" on Friday about the statewide stay-home order. When LeDuff asked Swanson if he would enforce the orders, Swanson said the sheriff's job is to enforce the laws "with discretion."

"We have not raided a business, we have not shut a business down," Swanson said. "We are not pulling people over, we are not writing tickets, and don't expect us to do it."

LeDuff raised the issue in regard to Karl Manke, the Owosso barber who defied the orders and opened his barber shop before the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs suspended his barbers license.
[.]
Sheriff Brian Begole said his department will not enforce the governor's orders.

"I have decided, within my authority, that our office cannot and will not divert our primary resources and efforts towards enforcement of the Gov. Whitmer's executive orders,” Begole said in a letter.

Several other Michigan sheriffs announced they will not enforce the orders, including Livingston County Sheriff Mike Murphy.

Swanson, a registered Democrat, is up for election as Genesee County Sheriff this November.

New plant-based bottles will degrade in a year.

Oh no! We'll need to find a new global pollutant!

Beer and soft drinks could soon be sipped from “all-plant” bottles under new plans to turn sustainably grown crops into plastic in partnership with major beverage makers.

[Avantium] biochemicals company in the Netherlands hopes to kickstart investment in a pioneering project that hopes to make plastics from plant sugars rather than fossil fuels.
[.]
“This plastic has very attractive sustainability credentials because it uses no fossil fuels, and can be recycled – but would also degrade in nature much faster than normal plastics do,” says [Avantium’s chief executive, Tom van Aken].

Avantium’s plant plastic is designed to be resilient enough to contain carbonate drinks. Trials have shown that the plant plastic would decompose in one year using a composter, and a few years longer if left in normal outdoor conditions. But ideally, it should be recycled, said Van Aken.
From "kickstart 'hopes to'" to "finished, completed successful product" is a long, long road.

If the new degradable bottles are successful, will that mean an end to all the ugly park benches made from recycled plastic? Awwwww, that's a shame.

Dining Out Mannequin Style.

I'd rather there be empty space, without any artificial props, surrounding me rather than mannequins in a restaurant. Not that I have a mannequin phobia, I don't. I just find this whole idea odd. Besides, they're obviously going to be an attraction for children who'll want to climb and paw all over them. Yeah, that'll help decrease the spreading of anything infectious.

If this idea of mannequins extends to the bars...well...then...I might end up talking all night thinking mistakenly that someone is really interested in what I'm saying.

Remember when not that long ago nude restaurants were the trendy cosmopolitan adornment of public dining? Now we're eating while wearing a Hazmat suit seated next to mannequins. Good times...Good times...

Tiny Fascist David Stewart, HOA PRESIDENT in Edmond, Oklahoma DEMANDS answer to who gave gate code to delivery driver.

There are no bigger Fascists on the planet than those who are presidents of Home Owners Associations (HOA).

Travis Miller was in Edmond, Oklahoma, on Monday to deliver appliances.
He was blocked from leaving gated community of Ashford Hills after delivery.
David Stewart, an HOA president, demanded to know how Miller got inside.
Miller refused to say and demanded Stewart move his car out of the way.
Miller then called police, but it took an hour for Stewart to finally let him leave.
Stewart, 66, is the owner of a gas and oil company based in Oklahoma City.

A black man who works as an appliance and furniture delivery driver uploaded video to social media showing white residents of an upscale, gated community of Oklahoma City block his truck from the exit while demanding to know what he was doing there.

Travis Miller said he had finished making a delivery to a customer who lives in the swanky Ashford Hills area of Edmond, just northeast of Oklahoma City, on Monday when he noticed that he was being prevented from leaving the gated community.

‘I’m trying to leave and I got “super neighbor” over here blocking me in,’ Miller said in cell phone video that he livestreamed on Facebook.

Miller than pointed the camera to show the back of his truck which was obstructed by a white sedan that had been standing just a few feet away on a driveway.

‘This is what I’m dealing with right now,’ Miller says in the video.

He then pans the camera to show a white man in a brownish-red sweater and white baseball cap standing a few feet away.

The man, later identified as David Stewart, has a cell phone pressed against his ear.

‘This is who I’m dealing with,’ Miller says in the video.

Miller then tells Stewart: ‘Napoleon, move out the way.’

When Stewart tells Miller his name, Miller replies: ‘I don’t care what your name is. Get out the way.’

Stewart identifies himself in the video as a homeowners association president. An HOA is an organization whose members comprise a community of people who own residential properties in a specific area.
[.]
Stewart demanded to know how Miller managed to get into the gated community.

‘I don’t have to tell you s***!’ Miller said.

After it became apparent that Stewart was refusing to allow Miller to leave, another homeowner joined Stewart.

All we want to know is why you’re in here and who gave you the gate code,’ the man said.

That’s all we need to know.’ (It's none of your business, so GFY. - Drake)

Miller told KFOR-TV that he refused to share his customer’s personal information with Stewart and the other man.

Miller told Stewart that he was calling the police while he waited for him to move his car so that he could leave.

The police did not arrive. Finally, Stewart moved his car an hour later.

‘They must have contacted the customer because the customer came around and he moved out the way,’ Miller said.

On the Facebook livestream, Miller is seen with tears streaming down his face as he is calling police.

‘He said that he called the cops back and let them know that everything was clear but I didn’t want to leave and have it seem like I was fleeing the scene or anything like that,’ Miller said to dispatch.

Miller said that the incident was made worse by the fact that he was in mourning over the passing of two relatives.

'I just know that emotionally, it was hard to maintain restraint, especially when I’m dealing with death in the family, two family members within two days of each other,' Miller said.

'I just did the best I could to not make a bad situation worse.'

DailyMail.com has reached out to Stewart for comment.

According to The Oklahoman, Stewart, 66, is the owner of Raven Resources, an oil and gas company based in Oklahoma City.
Buzzfile, public record.

[Travis Miller's] Facebook clip quickly went viral.

Miller, and many people who commented, felt it was racially motivated.

We tried calling [HOA President David] Stewart. The only number we could find for him was disconnected.

We stopped by his house too, and no one came to the door.
[.]
News 4 also tried to reach Stewart on Facebook but he never got back to us
Awwwwww, what's the matter Little Eichmann David Stewart, not answering the phone or your door? Too afraid now to face the press? Where's all your tough and overly-manly courage and defiance that you displayed in the video? Where are you, Tiny Acorn Man? Are you hiding? Are you now embarrassed? Afraid of retribution? Good. You should be.

One comment making its way around social media is that HOA President David Stewart opened up himself and the rest of the HOA to a lawsuit, one they would likely lose. I can't think of a better outcome for Mr. Miller. I hope he is awarded a sizeable amount of money for being unlawfully detained by two individuals who have zero law enforcement authority and their harassment and abusive behavior directed at Mr. Miller.

Another fun fact being reported is David Stewart is - or was - busy contacting Facebook to have Mr. Miller's video removed from its platform. HA! Good luck with that Little Nazi - Miller's video is all over social media.

Some people are incapable of rational thinking before immediately shifting into full gear asshole mode while the cameras are recording. Then, later - they regret it. Gee, that's too bad for HOA Kommandant David Stewart.

NYC Health Commissioner Dr. Oxiris Barbot to NYPD request for masks, "I don’t give two rats' asses about your cops, I need them for others."

New York City’s health commissioner blew off an urgent NYPD request for 500,000 surgical masks as the coronavirus crisis mounted — telling a high-ranking police official that “I don’t give two rats’ asses about your cops,” The Post has learned.

Dr. Oxiris Barbot made the heartless remark during a brief phone conversation in late March with NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan, sources familiar with the matter said Wednesday.

Monahan asked Barbot for 500,000 masks but she said she could only provide 50,000, the sources said.

I don’t give two rats’ asses about your cops,” Barbot said, according to sources.

Alpha Karen Gretchen Whitmer to Michigan: The beatings will continue until morale improves!

Alpha Karen Gretchen Whitmer, DEM Gov; MI.

CNN: Michigan governor says protests 'make it likelier' stay-at-home orders will stay in place longer.
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said Wednesday that the protests in the state's capital city against state measures meant to limit the spread of the coronavirus make it more likely that the state will have to keep restrictions in place longer.

Appearing Monday on ABC's "The View," Whitmer, a Democrat, was asked about the pushback against her administration's coronavirus restrictions. There have been multiple protests in the state's capital city of Lansing in the past few weeks, including one late last month that saw protesters -- some of them armed -- entering the state Capitol, screaming at law enforcement officers and not adhering to social distancing guidelines or wearing masks.

While she respects people's right to dissent, Whitmer said, the protesters are putting people at risk.

"The fact of the matter is, these protests -- in a perverse way -- make it likelier that we are going to have to stay in a stay-at-home posture," she said, going on to encourage anyone with a platform to call on people to "do the right thing."

Another protest against the state's stay-at-home restrictions is scheduled for Thursday in Lansing.

Walz extends 30 day "state of emergency".

Star Tribune: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz loosens pandemic stay-at-home restrictions.
Gov. Tim Walz said Wednesday that he will allow stores to reopen and let Minnesotans leave the house more*, while leaving in place for now restrictions for bars, restaurants, theaters, hair salons and other businesses with in-person services.

The announcement, delivered in a livestreamed address to Minnesotans Wednesday evening, means many small businesses and retailers can open their doors to customers on Monday, as long as they have a plan to keep employees and customers safe with social distancing.

“The stay-at-home order is expiring and the dials are turning, but that doesn’t mean we are carefree and can return to the way things were,” Walz said. “It means we have to stay safe, take care, care for our own health and care for our neighbor.”
[.]
Walz also extended for another 30 days a peacetime state of emergency that was set to expire Wednesday. The emergency powers have enabled him to take sweeping executive action such as the stay-at-home order and closing down schools, bars and restaurants.
* Why, I didn't know that I was required to check with Herr Walz on the number of times I'm allowed to leave the house. I guess I've been breaking quarantine. Meh.

Small businesses, especially in rural and small town Minnesota will continue dying. Walz doesn't care. They're nothing but rocks and cows to him.

Day by day, week by week - just watch - the progression that things will "get a little bit better enough" as we approach the date for the holy grail of Liberal Greed and Politics, The Minnesota State Fair. And Walz grandstanding, declaring how "happy and pleased he is" that the fair isn't canceled due to Covid-19.

But wait, Walz is concerned about all social distancing, isn't he? If Walz is so concerned over the re-opening of schools and businesses as we approach the end of summer/post-Labor Day holiday, why is he so reticent in canceling the Minnesota State Fair right now?

The Ramsey County Fair for 2020 is canceled. It receives a much smaller attendance than the State Fair. But so far, Herr Walz hans't canceled it. Is he willing to accept the responsibility of risking lives to the China Coronavirus by allowing the state fair to occur? What if by canceling the state fair Walz saved just one life? Isnt it worth it, Timmy, to save just one life?

Here's a short clip of Walz's livestream earlier today:

Tim Walz expected to extend Minnesota Stay Home Order for another 30 days. The state fair? It will be held as usual.

[Minnesota DEM] Gov. Tim Walz announced Wednesday morning that he will give an update to Minnesotan’s about the state’s response to COVID-19 during a live address at 6:00 p.m.

Walz is expected to extend his peacetime state of emergency order until June 12.

The governor has used his emergency powers to order Minnesotans to stay home, and to close bars, restaurants, schools, and non-essential businesses since the end of March.
[.]
Republican House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt, of Crown, said it’s time to let those powers expire.
Walz is determined to bankrupt the state. Not the state government, mind you, but every one and every business that isn't a government entity.

It's quite interesting and telling that Timmy Walzolini has not yet decided to cancel the Minnesota State Fair. Why wouldn't he, you may ask. Well, there's simply far too much money (greed) and politics involved in the state fair.

This year the state fair is scheduled for August 27 to September 7. At THIS LINK you will find updates on the progress of the state fair. Huh, funny that as of this publishing nothing has been updated since March 16. Other functions and access to the state fairgrounds and its facilities are restricted. But not a word yet on the state fair being canceled.

Who wants to make a friendly wager with me that the state fair will be held? It will be. The DEMS have too much invested in it for it to be canceled. It's a cash cow for the DEMS and all their little goose-stepping Eichmanns.

Consider the following statement from state fair general manager Jerry Hammer, (who's been at the job since the late 1970's) from the Minneapolis Star Tribune: Gov. Tim Walz calls Minnesota State Fair a 'tough lift' this year given the crowds.
Fair General Manager Jerry Hammer said in an interview that for now the annual event is on track to open Aug. 27 and run through Labor Day as scheduled.

We have a duty to present the fair and will continue to do so until it’s absolutely clear we can’t,” Hammer said. (A "DUTY"? SINCE WHEN IS A STATE FAIR CONSIDERED AN "ESSENTIAL BUSINESS"? - Drake)

A decision to cancel the fair won’t be made until it must be, he said. But he added the call would be made well before Aug. 1, though he couldn’t say whether a decision would come in May, June or July.

Hammer was firm, however, in saying that there will either be a full-on State Fair or none at all. No one is going to be scanning temperatures along with tickets at the gates, he said.

“We’re a big celebration,” Hammer said. “If the health of the people is where you need to take these extraordinary precautions, then maybe you shouldn’t be doing the event.”
From the same Star Tribune link above:
Gov. Tim Walz called holding the Minnesota State Fair during the coronavirus pandemic a “tough lift,” heightening concerns that the end-of-summer tradition will be canceled for only the sixth time in history.

I wouldn’t make a definitive call, but I also don’t want to give any false hope on this. I think it will be difficult to see a State Fair operating,” Walz said in response to a question at his daily briefing Thursday.

The governor, who acknowledges he loves the fair, added that one of the greatest parts of the Great Minnesota Get-Together is being “elbow to elbow” in the crowds.

“I don’t know how you social distance in there,” he said.
Places of worship are closed, any public gathering is limited to ten people...and in a little over three months the state fair will be held as usual?

If the state fair is held, it will be all the evidence anyone needs in knowing that these lockdowns and "shelter in place" measures were nothing but a hoax; an attempt to kill businesses, kill the economy, stoke fear and panic, and promote the Liberal narrative of Big and Intrusive government.

Close small businesses. Close places of worship. Make people suffer and feel pain. Oh - - - but let the state fair proceed. It's all politics and greed...for those with political clout and the deranged Liberals that run this state.

John Scott Moretti charged with child sex abuse. He headed security detail for John Kerry as Secretary of State.

The Jeff Bezos Peoples' Republic (WaPo Archived): Former top State Department official arrested on child molestation charges.
J. Scott Moretti, who oversaw diplomatic security training, charged on allegations from 2011 to 2013.

A former deputy assistant secretary of the State Department, who oversaw diplomatic security training until 2018 and previously headed Secretary of State John F. Kerry’s security detail, was arrested Tuesday in Prince William County and charged with molesting a child between 2011 and 2013.

J. Scott Moretti, 58, was the deputy assistant secretary of state for training for the Diplomatic Security Service from 2015 to July 2018, according to his archived State Department biography and his LinkedIn page. He joined the Diplomatic Security Service in 1986 and served in Afghanistan and Iraq while rising up the ranks to deputy assistant secretary of state in 2015.

Prince William County police said they received a complaint in September from a woman who told them she had been sexually assaulted at a residence in the Manassas area sometime between November 2011 and November 2013, when she was between 10 and 11 years old. The woman told police the incidents had happened on more than one occasion. Sgt. Jonathan Perok, a Prince William police spokesman, said the complainant was not a family member of Moretti’s.

The Prince William police special victims unit investigated and then obtained arrest warrants Tuesday for Moretti, who lives in the Manassas area. The warrants charge Moretti with indecent liberties with a minor and forcible sodomy. The Virginia State Police arrested him Tuesday, and he was ordered held without bond. It could not be determined whether a lawyer has been hired or appointed to represent him.

During the period of the alleged assaults, Moretti was stationed in Washington through July 2012 as director of the Office of Mobile Security Deployments, according to his State Department biography. The office is the on-call response force used by the State Department to counter threats against U.S. interests and personnel overseas. He then spent five months in Iraq as the deputy regional security officer for protective operations at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. From January 2013 to April 2015, he headed Kerry’s protective detail.

Moretti’s LinkedIn page indicates he retired in July 2018 from the State Department and provides no further employment history.

The WaPo story is dated May 7. It's not really amazing how little news is out there on this story. Do your own search and see how little you'll find.

DEMS and their complicit MSM covering up a scandalous pedophile. Oh...alleged pedophile.

If Moretti had worked for a Republican, you'd be reading this news everywhere, including sky-writing over the entire USA.

Fauci: "You'll still be homeschooling your kids this fall."

Best Life: You'll Still Be Homeschooling Your Kids This Fall, Dr. Fauci Says.
During a Senate Committee hearing, Fauci said schools reopening in the fall is "a bridge too far."

Anthony Fauci, MD, revealed Tuesday morning that a return to school in the fall "would be a bit of a bridge too far," during a Senate Committee hearing. News of likely continued homeschooling for the next school year will probably be met with groans and frustration by harried parents struggling to balance working from home and also managing remote learning and having their children home 100 percent of the time.
Which Fauci should we listen to?

MN Gov Walz holds hostage small businesses in his rule of tyranny.

H/T: Odyssues.

ST PAUL, Minn. — In what was a largely symbolic move the Minnesota Senate's Republican majority Monday pushed through a bill that would let all Minnesota businesses reopen in spite of any emergency orders from Gov. Tim Walz.

Business owners would be expected to comply with CDC and Minnesota Dept. of Health guidelines on social distancing, masks and other infection control practices.

Under the Senate's legislation, those plans wouldn't have to be reviewed by the government and the state would be barred from stripping business and professional licenses from those businesses.

The DFL-controlled House isn't expected to pass a similar bill, but the debate once again allowed Republicans in the legislature to assert a position that distinct from the governor's measured response.

"The ma and pa shops that are on main street in many of our small towns in my district and throughout Minnesota, they’ve been continuing to call and ask and say we know we can operate safely," Sen. Andrew Mathews, a Republican from Princeton, told colleagues.

"I had a business owner who reached out, contacted me, and he laid out what his safety plan would be, he had already come up with it."
'[.]
"I think if the governor’s using that science the small businesses, the small boxes, ought to be able to use that same science that has currently allowed for the big box stores," Sen. Mary Kiffmeyer, a Big Lake Republican asserted.
A Soft Coup of Timmy Mussolini's draconian Tyranny? I'm all for it.

Upper Midwest Law Center, a Minnesota-based public interest law firm, has filed a lawsuit on behalf of multiple Minnesota churches and small business owners to strike down Gov. Tim Walz's 'stay at home' emergency executive orders as "unconstitutional under the First, Fifth and 14th Amendments to the United States Constitution," a lawsuit states.

The lawsuit was filed on Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. To see a copy of the complaint, click here.

By posing other and different constitutional questions to a federal court, this lawsuit differs from a separate suit filed recently in the state appeals court by the Free Minnesota Small Business Coalition.

The following are named plaintiffs in the case:

Northland Baptist Church of St. Paul, and Pastor John Bruski,
    Living Word Christian Center,
Glow In One Mini Golf LLC in Blaine, and its owner and operator, Aaron Kessler,
Myron's Cards and Gifts, Inc., and its owner and operator Larry Evenson,
Andrew Hulse and Gay Bunch-Halse, owners and operators of 18 | 8 Fine Men's Salons in Maple Grove and Wayzata.

"Governor Walz's scheme of selecting economic winners and losers by wholly shutting down some businesses while allowing others to remain open violates the Plaintiff businesses' 14th Amendment due process and equal protection rights," stated Doug Seaton, Esq., President of the Upper Midwest Law Center. "Governor Walz's actions also constitute a taking under the Fifth Amendment, and his prohibition on worshippers gathering violates churches' and individuals' First Amendment rights. The Constitution requires that the Governor respect the individual rights of all citizens at all times, narrowly tailor any restrictions, and apply the same rules to all. It is clear that his continuing lockdown executive orders fail these constitutional requirements."

Musk defies orders to reopen Tesla.

BBC: Elon Musk defies orders to reopen Tesla.
Tesla has reopened its only US electric car plant in California, despite local orders against manufacturing.

On Monday, the company's chief executive Elon Musk tweeted that production had restarted and he would be "on the line with everyone else".

US states and local governments are trying to determine the best way to open up after lockdown.

Mr Musk previously vowed to move the firm's headquarters out of California if the plant was not allowed to reopen.
[.]
On Saturday, Elon Musk said that Tesla had filed a lawsuit against the county asking a court to remove the order that prevents the carmaker from resuming production.

Rather than wait for a ruling, Mr Musk announced on Twitter on Monday that the plant would reopen.
[.]
The local police department said that it was aware of the situation, but that it would act at the discretion of county health officials.

The Alameda County Public Health Department said on Monday it was "actively communicating" with Tesla about reopening plans and that it was taking the same approach it had taken with other business that had violated lockdown orders.

In an email seen by Reuters, Tesla also reportedly told workers the decision to reopen was in line with California guidelines.

Mr Musk wrote on Twitter that Tesla had been "singled out", saying that other US carmakers were allowed to restart production.

Biden: VP Pick is like a Pinup calendar contest.

In “private encounters,” Joe Biden likened a vice presidential nominee selection process to browsing monthly morsels in a pinup calendar.

The New York Times reported:
[.]
Biden has likened running-mate evaluation to deciding among calendar models, with three broad categories (and outdated honorifics): Contenders can be a “Mr. August” (a shot of momentum in the summer), a “Mr. October” (a reliable and effective campaigner for the fall) or a “Mr. January” (a governing partner, politics notwithstanding).
[.]
Biden used the “Mr.” title before he had declared he would nominate a woman as his running mate.

The story comes as Biden continues to defend himself against allegations that he sexually assaulted then-staffer Tara Reade in 1993.
Don't worry, Joe - choosing a VP running mate is something he'll never have to decide, he won't be the candidate. If by some miracle he is, his VP running mate will be chosen for him, he'll have no say, no input.

Justin Trudeau’s Assault Weapons Ban Includes Bolt Action Rifles.

Breitbart: Justin Trudeau’s ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban Includes Numerous Bolt Action Rifles.
An close examination of Canadian PM Justin Trudeau’s ban of 1,500 “assault weapons” reveals the list of prohibited firearms includes a number of bolt action rifles.

Bolt action rifles have been go-to rifles for the hunters and the sport community for over a century and do not have a self-loading action–a semiautomatic action–but are fed a new round only when the hunter or sportsman manually pulls back a bolt to reload.

The bolt action platform is wildly popular for the large rounds like the .50 caliber, which can used for extreme long range shooting.

Democrats in the U.S. government have unsuccessfully sought bans on .50 caliber rifles in past decades, including them in “assault weapons” ban legislation following high profile, mass public attacks. The problem is .50 calibers rifles are extremely large and bulky, and are not conducive to be being carried into a location for the purpose of an attack, therefore the bans fizzle.

But Trudeau included .50 caliber bolt action rifles in his ban of 1,500 “assault weapons.”
[.]
In addition to banning a number of long range, bolt action rifles, Trudeau’s ban also bans .22 caliber rifles that are built on the AR-15 platform. Two such guns are the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 and Mitchell Arms Car 15/22, both banned under Trudeau’s announcement.

On May 6, 2020, the Post reported the gun ban as “incoherent,” noting it bans some guns for having certain characteristics and actions while passing over other guns that have the same characteristics and actions.
Is this a trick Trudeau is playing, trying to lure America's Second Amendment-hating Liberals into moving to Canada? Well-played, Justin.
