Maybe Cory Bernaert, Robert Thollander, Nicolette Solomon and other gay Florida teachers need to Learn To Code?

Washington Examiner: Florida teacher upset he can't share gay experiences with kindergartners.

A kindergarten teacher in Florida spoke out against the state's Parental Rights in Education Act Tuesday, stating how upset he is he won't be able to share the experiences of his and his partner's lives with his students.

"It truly makes me feel like I am not trusted as a professional. I know my kindergarten standards through and through, and nowhere in our curriculum does it have anything about teaching sexual orientation or sexual identity," Cory Bernaert said while speaking with MSNBC. "I am afraid for my colleagues, myself, and my students."
[.]
Educators need to discuss their home lives with students to build meaningful and productive relationships, he argued.

"I'm afraid." Afraid of what? Specifics, please. "I'm afraid" is now the new default statement for Liberals who feel their personal behavior overrides everything and everyone else.

NBC News (Archived): 'I cannot teach in Florida': LGBTQ educators fear fallout from new school law.

Last month, a group of parents in Orlando, Florida, demanded “consequences” against sixth grade science teacher Robert Thollander. His crime? Thollander acknowledged his marriage at school.

“He married a man. This alone is not an issue. Sharing the details … with all his 6th grade students is the issue,” the parents wrote in a letter sent to their children’s school board, which was shared with NBC News. “It was not appropriate. Many of these students felt very uncomfortable with the conversations and shared this with their families.”
[.]
...the incident prompted Thollander to make this school year his last after 11 years of working in Florida as a teacher.
[.]
Nicolette Solomon, 28, taught fourth grade in Miami-Dade County for more than four years. As HB 1557 passed through the Legislature, she quit. Solomon, a lesbian, said that after months of having taught virtually through the coronavirus pandemic, the law was “the straw that broke the camel’s back.”

Good. QUIT! Teachers are replaceable. There are many teachers whose goal and desire is to do their jobs without injecting their personal lives into a classroom discussion with children.

I'll be fair here; I wouldn't want children hearing about the personal, sexual lives of heterosexual teachers either.

Cory, Robert and Nicolette and other teachers who feel they're being oppressed by the Florida law should quit their jobs and Learn to Code.

Fauci: "You'll still be homeschooling your kids this fall."

Best Life: You'll Still Be Homeschooling Your Kids This Fall, Dr. Fauci Says.
During a Senate Committee hearing, Fauci said schools reopening in the fall is "a bridge too far."

Anthony Fauci, MD, revealed Tuesday morning that a return to school in the fall "would be a bit of a bridge too far," during a Senate Committee hearing. News of likely continued homeschooling for the next school year will probably be met with groans and frustration by harried parents struggling to balance working from home and also managing remote learning and having their children home 100 percent of the time.
Which Fauci should we listen to?

Maybe a lot of former teachers should "Learn To Code".

Rood Math. Math problem upsets student and parent.

A representative from Merriam-Webster, speaking on behalf of the words 'Write' and 'Its', said, "We would like people to stop thinking we all look the same and have the same meaning."

A fourth-grader at a Utah elementary school says a problem on her math homework was offensive.

The math problem compared girls' weights, KSTU reports.

I didn’t like that because girls shouldn’t be comparing each other. I know it was a math problem … but I don’t think that was really OK," 9-year-old Rhythm told KSTU.

The question read as follows: "The table to the right shows the weight of three Grade 4 students. How much heavier is Isabell than the lightest student?"

I was shocked … I was shocked, honestly,” Naomi Pacheco, Rhythm's mother, said about the assignment.

Rhythm did not answer the question. Instead, she circled the question and explained why she would not answer it.

"What! This is offensive! Sorry I won’t write this it’s rude!" Rhythm wrote in response to the math problem.

{Snip, - blah blah, feelings validated, etc etc - }

[.]
“I can certainly see if a fourth-grade student did misconstrue that question. However, in math curriculum, wasn’t about body image — the question was about moving kilograms to pounds,” Melissa Hamilton, director of elementary teaching and learning, said.

Mueller Testimony, his body language and Fusion GPS.

Elderly man said some things.

In Wednesday's oh-so-crucial-for-the-DEMS Clown Show, Bob Mueller testified that he was not familiar with Fusion GPS.

Former special counsel Robert Mueller declined to answer questions on why any direct mention of Fusion GPS was omitted from his 448-page report on the Russia investigation.

I’m not familiar with that,” Mueller said when asked about the indirect mention of the opposition research firm in his report.
Check out Fusion GPS' Web site. Be careful, though. It's easy to get lost in their flashy, Java-laden, confusing and complicated design.

Tonya Reiman, a guest on Wednesday night's FOX The Ingraham Angle, said the following about Mueller's body language in Wednesday's two hearings (I'm paraphrasing):
  • Mueller doodled: helps the process of "going through the process".
  • Mueller's hand gesturing and waving a pen he was holding: a way to shed nervous energy.
  • Mueller's hands tightly-folded and fingers intertwined: represents restraint.
  • Mueller would stick out only the tip of his tongue: a sign that the person speaking doesn't like their own words they are saying.
  • Mueller being reminded to speak into the microphone: reluctance; looking to be prompted by others.
  • Mueller's mouth agape and jaw-shifting: disagreement, uncertainty, frustrated.
  • Mueller leaned back in his chair - distancing himself - when the questions were adversarial, but sat straight and upright during other types of questioning.
  • Overall, his body language indicated he didn't want to be there.
More on Mueller's body language at Northeastern Ed: Robert Mueller was a reluctant witness. It really showed in his testimony to Congress.
He did not engage in behaviors that might suggest he was enjoying the hearing,” [said Laura Dudley, a behavior analyst at Northeastern]. “Sometimes during hearings, we see people who seem initially nervous and then begin to ‘settle in,’ appearing more comfortable, ad-libbing, and smiling. This did not happen with Mueller. If anything, he appeared more weary as the questioning continued.”
When he was asked who appointed him as a U.S. Attorney, Mueller replied it was President George H.W. Bush. It was President Ronald Regan who appointed Mueller.

Mueller was also asked what he knew - and he refused to answer - about leaks regarding the raid on Roger Stone's home, considering CNN reported the raid in real-time. Where are the DEMS and their soap boxes when you need them? The DEMS always support whistle-blowers and want to know their identity. That's part of the investigation to release unredacted. Someone leaked that - let's find out who. But no DEM called for this unredacted release. Maybe this info isn't important to DEMS. It might hurt Their Precious Liberal Fictional Narrative?

The DEMS thought Mueller's testimony would bring deliverance to any number of their many imaginary high crimes and misdemeanors committed by President Donald Trump. The DEMS (again) overplayed a hand they never had.

The late afternoon brought President Trump saying, "the democrats had nothing. And now they have less than nothing." Precisely.

The DEMS will, "get nothing and like it."

Who actually wrote Muller's Book Report? We don't know. He was asked if, as part of his staffing during his investigation, he asked others of their political affiliation. He said , "no." Well, I'd think a DC-insider like Mueller would know who's who after almost 40 years. He didn't have to ask. He knew who he was getting and he got anyone and everyone he wanted. Many of them he probably doesn't know.

Patent Granted to Facebook's shadowbanning.

Reclaim The Net: Facebook’s shadowbanning process is now patented:
It's official and patented: Facebook is that company that engages in censorship utilizing a practice known as shadowbanning. [].. the US Patent and Trademark Office has now granted the request.
[.]
In the summary of the patent case Facebook describes how shadowbanning works: comments are analyzed for content and sentiments that are prohibited by the social network, such as profanities, or racist, derogatory, “or negative” remarks.

And while such comments will still be visible to the author – and in some cases, their friends – “the social networking system will not display the comment to other users.”

Facebook added that it may also “train a machine learning classifier to block comments based on moderator actions of manually deleting comments or unblocking comments in the online forum.”
Is this Social Media AI Comment Moderation or censorship? This should be a fun one to watch. AI learning what it identifies as "negative remarks". What could possibly go wrong?

Technocracy: UK Pedestrian Fined $115 For Avoiding Facial Recognition Camera.
Police fined a pedestrian £90 for disorderly behaviour after he tried to cover his face when he saw a controversial facial recognition camera on a street in London.

Officers set up the camera on a van in Romford, East London, which then cross-checked photos of faces of passers-by against a database of wanted criminals.

But one man was unimpressed about being filmed and covered his face with his hat and jacket, before being stopped by officers who took his picture anyway.

After being pulled aside, the man told police: ‘If I want to cover me face, I’ll cover me face. Don’t push me over when I’m walking down the street.

C|NetGood reasons not to trust tech companies.
...why wouldn't a company like Facebook go the extra step and just listen in on our conversations through our phones?

"Most Americans can't go through their day without having one of these companies in their lives," said Margaret O'Mara, a history professor at the University of Washington and author of The Code: Silicon Valley and the Remaking of America.

TechTalksSelf-driving forklifts are here.
...factories and industrial complexes are closed environments, and are much more predictable. There’s no threat of kids running in the forklift’s path, and the lighting, weather and traffic conditions are usually constant. “The rules for forklifts are easier than self-driving cars because the environment is structured,” [says Saurav Agarwal, CTO and co-founder at Stocked Robotics, an Austin-based AI company focused on automating industrial vehicles].

ZD Net: Six ways the new Mac Pro could go terribly wrong.
Once upon a time, Apple understood extreme pro users. From about 2006 to about 2012, Apple sold what is fondly referred to as the "cheese grater" Mac Pro, so named because the holes on the side of the unit were reminiscent of a cheese grater.
[.]
Then, in 2013, Apple introduced what's come to be known as the "trash can" Mac Pro, because it looks like a glossy little trash can. When Phil Schiller introduced it, he was so proud of it that he bragged, "Can't innovate, my ass."

Since then, that machine has been pretty much a failure.
[.]
It's entirely possible the new Mac Pro could go horribly wrong:
#1 Proprietary modules and module interfaces

#2 Limited module selection

#3 Lack of user maintainability and some kind of unexpected lock-in

#4 Lack of, or minimal upgradeability

#5 Form over functional heat management

#6 Pricing that limits purchases to high-end enterprises only

Tesla may have just raised $2.7B in additional funding, but the company’s cash burn rate is so high, even that amount won’t keep the lights on for very long. According to CEO Elon Musk, the company is instituting “hardcore” cost-cutting rules and scrutinizing every penny that leaves the firm.["]

Polar Bears invade town; eager to stay.

RT: Invasion of the polar bears.
To fend off the beasts, Belushya Guba has already erected some fences and tried to scare the predators off by vehicles and warning shots. Some bears, however, seem to be eager to stay in the town despite all the efforts of humans.

"Learn to Code" is "hate speech"?

Twitter panics over phrase "Learn to Code".

Breitbart: "Telling fired journalists to 'learn to code' is targeted harassment."
Twitter has ruled that telling journalists to learn to code is “targeted harassment.” A Twitter spokesperson stated that the situation was “nuanced” but that telling laid-off journalists to “learn to code” could be considered “targeted harassment.”
[.]
Twitter does not consider the repeated calls of violence against the students of Covington Catholic High School to be targeted harassment. Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan’s referral to Jewish people as “termites” also did not violate the sites targeted harassment rules. Tweets about the Covington school kids such as “LOCK THE KIDS IN THE SCHOOL AND BURN THAT B*TCH TO THE GROUND,” were allowed on Twitter’s platform[.]
