RVM News: Chuck Schumer Under Investigation for Threats Against Supreme Court Justices. 

In a letter dated January 21, 2025, [Interim D.C. U.S. Attorney Ed] Martin confirmed that a “preliminary inquiry” had been opened into Schumer’s statements.

“We take threats against public officials very seriously. I look forward to your cooperation,” Martin wrote in the letter, which was addressed directly to Schumer.

Schumer has previously made comments suggesting political retribution against opponents.

In 2017, during the early stages of the Russia investigation, he warned that President Donald Trump was making a mistake by challenging U.S. intelligence agencies.

“Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,” Schumer said in an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.

Amazon employees upset over the recent decision by the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade asked the company for “space and time” to “grieve” and “protest against this assault on our rights,” according to a leaked letter.

The petition was reportedly signed by hundreds of employees at the Seattle-based retail giant, according to Insider. A copy of the petition was posted online by the Twitter account “Libs of TikTok.”

The letter also demands that Amazon “cease operations in states that enact laws that threaten the lives and liberty of abortion seekers, either by denying healthcare in life threatening circumstances or by criminalizing abortion seekers and providers.”

Roe v Wade was bad law. It never should have been a federal issue. Returning it to the states is the right move.

A climate activist who lit himself on fire on Earth Day outside the United States Supreme Court Building has died, according to reports.

Wynn Bruce, 50, of Boulder, Colorado, died Saturday, a day after he set himself ablaze in Washington, D.C., the Metropolitan Police Department told Fox News.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on the plaza in front of the court building.

He was airlifted to a local hospital, where he died.

A Facebook page belonging to a person named Wynn Bruce said he was a Buddhist and a climate activist.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been released from a Baltimore hospital where she had been treated for a possible infection.

The 86-year-old Ginsburg has returned to her home in Washington, D.C., and is “doing well,” court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said Sunday.

Ginsburg spent two nights at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She was taken there Friday after experiencing chills and fever.

The court says she received intravenous antibiotics and fluids and that her symptoms abated. (Embalming does have that effect. 😃 - DD)

Her latest hospital stay began Friday, after the justices met in private to discuss pending cases.

She was initially evaluated at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington before being transferred to Johns Hopkins for further evaluation and treatment of any possible infection.

Ginsburg has been on the court since 1993, appointed by President Bill Clinton. Only Justice Clarence Thomas has served longer among the current members of the court.
