Minneapolis residents raise concerns about Uptown Mall renovation. Oh, no! The Patchouli-Birkenstock Crowd is Triggered!

A fine example of Full Circle Liberalism, aka Socialism 360°. How I love stories like these...

FOX 9 KMSP: Minneapolis residents raise concern about Uptown Mall renovation:
Some possible changes could be coming to an age-old part of Uptown Minneapolis. Plans from the Park Board could potentially reduce the amount of parking on part of the plaza.
[.]
For more than a century, the Uptown Mall has been a shady oasis in one of the most densely-populated neighborhoods in the city.

Some neighbors worry possible changes to the park could cause it to lose its character.

“This is like going to St. Anthony Main and ripping up all the bricks,” said Uptown resident Steven Taylor. “Uptown doesn’t want that.”

Last spring, the Park Board released a new design to update the median between Hennepin Avenue and East lake of the Isles Parkway that would include a new plaza and play area by the Walker Library, a connection to the Midtown Greenway and community and rain gardens.

Park Board officials say a Community Advisory Committee is also considering getting rid of the streets in the two blocks closest to Lake of the Isles and turning them into green space for multi-use fields and a sand volleyball court.

It was quite shocking for the community to hear about,” said East Isles Residents Assocation Ellen Van Iwaarden. (GASP! The Progs were shocked! Triggered! They didn't see it coming. - DD)
The East Isles Residents Association says neighbors are split on the possible plans for the park.

“There are some people who are absolutely for it, who think we shouldn’t be designing our parks around cars,” Van Iwaarden said. “But there are many who live in the apartments and park there.”

Nobody wants to tarnish one of the city’s hidden gems.

“I’m not opposed to getting rid of parking for the right reasons,” Taylor said. “I don’t think volleyball courts is the right reasons [sic].”

Understand this geographic area is a textbook definition of Progressivism.

Some folks in the area worry this renovation may cause the area to lose its character. WELCOME to what you've pushed on everyone else, everywhere else.  How does it feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel?

Renovation? Heck yes, DO IT! I have suggestions:

* Add a 24/7 bus line or light rail service.
* Add several pedestrian bridges, whether they're needed or not.
* A couple of amphitheaters. Why have only one?
* Since Minneapolis has a large homeless population, add several affordable-housing-in-a-box projects. Make them real tall and narrow buildings with the first level being zoned for commercial use. Dig deep underground parking facilities that will take years to complete. The benefits outweigh any short-term delays, don't they?
* Eliminate all vehicles and build several lanes for bicycles, skateboarding, scooters, roller-blading and unicorns.
* Design a costly, grand, obtuse, central-theme artwork. Maybe a gigantic, Plexiglas nonagon filled with liquid that glows or changes colors similar to a lava-lamp!
* Designate the renovated area a Gun Free Zone so no crime or vandalism will occur there, ever.
* Make all activities free; no-charge. Everything is Free! Always!

How is all this funded and paid for? Why ask such an unrelated and offensive question. Are you some Fascist Luddite who hates progress and development?

See, in the long run, the above will save so much money, it will pay for itself. A government or quasi-government bureaucracy that accurately predicts future tax revenue will say so, and projected revenue and savings are never wrong. Any financial burden by - say, taxpayers - will be short-lived. Besides, taxpayers have LOTS of money. Lots and Lots of it.

The benefits of renovating the Uptown Mall area? Beneficial to everyone, it will be a happy place where everyone is welcome.

Somewhere, hidden in all this renovation plan, there must be the belief that promotes this plan fights global warming global cooling climate change. How could anyone be against that?

DO IT! Make the renovation happen. Make the plan Grand and Bold! I'm all for it!

Full Circle Liberalism hits and so many NIMBYS start whining? This is the mystery of life. It's time to do your part, Uptown. Cars and parking are bad for the environment. Volleyball courts and green spaces are better for the environment!

Losing character and tarnishing gems, hidden or otherwise, is what Liberalism does best. Somehow, Liberals dislike living with it, though they expect - née demand - it from others.

We should probably doxx everyone who even slightly voices any opposition to this planned Uptown renovation.

Reddit quarantines r/The Donald

Reddit has "quarantined" a popular subreddit for supporters of President Donald Trump for "threats of violence against police and public officials."

The social media site now displays a warning message for visitors trying to access r/The_Donald which has more than 754,000 subscribers. Quarantined subreddits also "generate no revenue, do not appear in non-subscription-based feeds (eg Popular), and are not included in search or recommendations," according to Reddit.
[.]
The move comes two days after Media Matters reported that subreddit users have repeatedly called for violence against Oregon police and other public officials. Gov. Kate Brown authorized the Oregon State Police to find and return 11 Republican state senators who fled Salem to deny Democrats the opportunity to pass a sweeping greenhouse gas emissions cap-and-trade bill.
Can anyone recall Media Matters condemning actual violence committed by AntiFa, rather than alleged "calls for violence" appearing at a thread on a glorified BBS that's been usurped by Spastic Snowflake Liberals?

BBC Director General whines over label "mainstream" and why Teh News not trusted.

No one wants to play in The Empty Sandbox belonging to the whiney-assed kid.

RT: BBC director whines over label "mainstream".
A speech given by the head of the BBC pouting over the "abusive" term "mainstream media" misses the point entirely, media analyst Lionel told RT.
[.]
Rather than complain about "people of all political persuasions" pointing out the system's flaws, he said, BBC director general Tony Hall and others like him would do well to look in the mirror to understand how "traditional journalism" came to be seen as "part of the problem rather than the solution."

Connecticut proposes 50% Tax on Ammunition

Breitbart: Jillian Gilchrest, DEM-CT, introduces 50 Percent Tax on Ammo.
Connecticut State Rep. Jillian Gilchrest (D-13th) is pushing a 50 percent tax on ammunition purchases in her state.

Gilchrest is willing to exempt police and military personnel from the impost, but homeowners worried about defending their lives and those of their families get no such break.

In fact, Gilchrest questions how much ammunition a homeowner needs to carry out a viable defense. She tweeted: “I’m hearing push back about the need to protect one’s home… but how much ammunition does someone really need to do that?
Gilchrest's Tweet:
I’ve introduced HB 5700, a 50% tax increase on ammunition. It doesn’t apply to military or law enforcement. I’m hearing push back about the need to protect one's home… but how much ammunition does someone really need to do that? #gunsense #enough pic.twitter.com/NZjkWBrpjC

Nathan Phillips, Vietnam Vet or Stolen Valor?

The sorting out whether or not Nathan Phillips, the Native American beating his drum, served in the U.S. Military or if he's guilty of Stolen Valor.

This Ain't Hell: Vietnam "Times" Veteran.
It has been reported several times in the media that Nathan Phillips is 63-64 years old.  That would have put him at 18 years old in 1973, so he would have graduated high school in either 1972 or 1973.  It would have been an extremely tight timeline to have him in the country of Vietnam during the War.  This alone has some people raising questions.
CDNNathan Phillips IS Stolen Valor.
...the Washington Post very quietly retracted the claim that Nathan Phillips served in Vietnam. Of course, they had to [sic]. Nathan Phillips claimed he served in Vietnam in 1976 when talking to reporters The Toledo Blade, but as you probably know the war ended in 1973. He said he was a marine veteran but the last marine unit left in 1971 when he was 16 years old.
Quod VerumNathan Phillips, Fake Marine.
The man is a liar. He lied about his service in Vietnam, and he lied about what the young Trump supporters did.

It took me exactly three minutes to expose Nathan Phillips as a liar. I appear to be the only person who made the effort.
Clover Chronicle: Numerous links and stories regarding Phillips' service, or lack of it.
Other sources say marines were still stationed at the U.S. embassy when the liberation of Saigon occurred on April 30, 1975.
Pacific Pundit pulls no punched: Nathan Phillips never deployed to Vietnam.
...another epic media fuck up. I’ve lost count how many stories the media has blown in just the first two plus weeks of the new year.
Catholic News AgencyNathan Phillips attempted to disrupt Basilica Mass.
...a group of Native American rights activists reportedly led by Nathan Phillips attempted Jan. 19 to enter Washington, D.C.’s Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception during a Saturday evening Mass.

The group of 20 demonstrators was stopped by shrine security as it tried to enter the church during its 5:15 pm Vigil Mass, according to a shrine security guard on duty during the Mass.

“It was really upsetting,” the guard told CNA.

“There were about twenty people trying to get in, we had to lock the doors and everything.”
Vietnam Vet or Stolen Valor? The trending accuracy so far is: Stolen Valor. That is just shameful. It's like claiming Native Ancestry when you have none.

On the issue of attempting to disrupt the religious ceremony of others? I have nothing but contempt for those who do this. If Phillips IS the "activist" who led a demonstration at the Basilica, he should be ashamed. IF it is him.

Standing and Smiling is now Menacing.

FOX 5 San Diego: Teens "viral" standoff with Native American man.
Videos of the confrontation show a smiling young man in a red Make America Great Again hat standing directly in front of the man, who was playing a drum and chanting. Other kids can be seen mimicking the chant, laughing and jumping around.
Yes, that's what the video shows.

I see a young man, smiling, looking rather content and unoffensive. Kind of like the facial expression one would have attending a live concert, listening to a band or singer. But that's not the narrative chosen by the MSM.

The story behind the skewed MSM narrative.

Nathan Phillips, the Native American, executed de-escalation deftly of what could have been a huge brawl. And a kid stands there virtually motionless, quietly smiling, and the Media paints him as an antagonist?

Way more info on the Real Narrative here. Spectator UK:
Take this MAGA-hat wearing teen. He is presented as taunting the Indian Elder. Just look at the video. But wait. A classmate has written to a local television station to give his side of the story, which is sharply at odds with the white-boy-bad version burning up the internet. And another video, as Daniel McCarthy points out, shows the activists taunting the kids.
It's funny; the angry, profane, filth-laden protesting of the Bitchdom March is portrayed by the MSM as so positive, such a wonderful gathering of peace-promoting, equality-seeking women Bitches. But a white teen in a MAGA cap smiling? Pure evil.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez upset over Tesla not giving back to taxpayers.

Her name is too many keystrokes, so from now on, she's AOC.

AOC to Tesla, "taxpayers have not seen a return on their investment." RT News:
Incoming New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is taking aim at that most sacred of American cows, the public-private partnership, criticizing Tesla for accepting government subsidies without giving back to the taxpayer.

“When we as a public choose to invest in new technologies, we deserve a return on that investment,” Ocasio-Cortez said during a climate change town hall event on Monday.
[.]
While Tesla has certainly benefited from government subsidies, racking up $2.4 billion as of 2016, the company does not receive nearly as much from the taxpayer as other automakers like Ford, which received $4 billion during that same time, or GM, which got $5.8 billion.
Does she remember Solyndra and other green energy failures that cost taxpayers over $2.2 billion?  Or $4 billion annually to oil companies? (It's the NYT so it has to be true).

Is anyone documenting AOC's every clouded non-sequitur statement at some site or blog? How could anyone keep up? When would you sleep? It's not possible.

Tesla Electric Cars: Dirty, Filthy, Polluting, Earth Destroying, Global Warming Escalatng Contributor

The pure, clean, enviro-friendly electric Tesla cars are no better for the environment than diesel or gas. Climate Change Dispatch:
Despite being recognized as among the most environmentally friendly on the market, Tesla vehicles harm the planet just about as much as their diesel and petrol equivalents, according to a recent analysis by Engaged Tracking, a London-based research firm.
[.]
This is because more CO2 is emitted during the manufacturing of electric vehicles, and the electricity Tesla vehicles in the U.K. require are generated mostly by coal and gas.
[.]
Tesla countered with: "the group’s findings, claiming the comparison of a Model S — a larger model — to an average vehicle is not fair."
Oh, gee - the "[ it's ] not fair" cry from the Left / Earth-Fcukers. What isn't unfair to them? When have they ever been "fair"?

Unfortunately for Tesla, this is not the first study that concluded electric cars proved no benefit to the environment.

From the same story/link above:
The Manhattan Institute published a report in May that analyzed the cost of electric automobiles and their effectiveness to clean the environment.

The Institute’s findings were quite notable: electric cars actually increase the amount of pollution into the atmosphere compared to new internal combustion vehicles.
So far, (and tech can change), electric cars provide no benefit to the environment. This information has no impact or effect on the Enviro-First-Facts-Don't-Matter crowd who will once again don their denial cap and undergo yet another session of flip of the switch.

Toppled Confederate soldier, tells Workers World Party, Durham Branch, "you didn't hurt me at all."

Average reading time, including video: 2m 15s

A group of the Workers World Party Durham Branch tied a rope around a metal statue of a Confederate Soldier and pulled it to the ground. Then they kicked at the statue. They sure showed him, huh? WXYZ.com:
The statue has stood outside the courthouse since 1924.

According to a Facebook event page, the protest was organized by the Workers World Party Durham Branch. The protest was organized to demand the removal of all Confederate symbols.
[.]
"Charlottesville and racist monuments across the country are the result of centuries of white supremacy,” Alissa Ellis, a member of Workers World Party Durham branch, told the News Observer. "But we cannot ignore the fact that the current Trump administration has emboldened more Nazis, KKK, and white supremacists to target, brutalize, and kill our communities"[.]
I'm surprised - no, SHOCKED! - that Alissa doesn't have a hyphenated-last-name. Usually-especially-women-who-are-in-groups-like-this-have-hyphenated-last-names. Alissa is an iconoclast.

Here's their Facebook page, if you were considering "liking" them.

And good for Alissa for invoking Godwin's law. Nazis, the KKK, Hitler, etc can never be mentioned enough when pointless organizations like the WWP have no point.

Workers World Party Durham Beach displaying their intelligence.

Memo to the WWP: You did not hurt the soldier.

For the sake of argument, let's pretend this disrespect of property is removed from any political nuances. These people are out of their minds. They are the mob that is the mob they so abhor.

They are suffering severe Cognitive Dissonance.

Let's just get a basic understanding and definition of the WWP from Wikipedia.

The Wiki entry for the Workers World Party describes them as:
...a communist party in the United States, founded in 1959[.]
[.]
WWP describes itself as a party that has, since its founding, "supported the struggles of all oppressed peoples".
[.]
The WWP has maintained a position of support for the government of North Korea.
They are a Communist party, supporting the struggles of oppressed people...and they support the government of North Korea ruled by Kimmy Jong Un, an oppressive and ruthless tyrant?

Here they are below, proudly displaying their evolved prefrontal cortex:

My guess? They all have severe amygdala damage and trama.

Dems Win Two Losses

Nelson Muntz mocks Dems Congressional losses.

The Democrats just lost two more Congressional elections, one in Georgia, the other in South Carolina.

In our America, where Dems pretend that a loss isn't a loss - whether it's your young child's Saturday afternoon soccer game where no one keeps score (or at least claims they don't) or whether it's a federal election - they celebrate the loss as a win. Now, who can argue with such higher, institutional, educational myopia from the Dems? We shouldn't. Those of us who are - I'll use the term 'Not Dems' - should support the Dems' win of losses. Does that make sense?

The wording of headlines for these two races are very similar.

For the Georgia race, from  al-Reuters: "Republican avoids upset in costly Georgia congressional race."

For the South Carolina race, APee's headline is: "GOP holds on to House seat, but Dems surpass expectation."

It must be painstaking and numbing for the FakeStream™Media going to the lengths they do in order to avoid anything that conveys the words, "Democrat lost."

We've had a handful or so special elections for congressional seats, with each one being identified by Dems as a "referendum"...a "bellwether "... that they believe will reflect on the nation's complete hatred of the Donald Trump presidency and an election that marks an upcoming tidal wave of Dems winning back the House and Senate. Except...the Dem candidate LOST in each of these special elections.

But they didn't lose. For you see, the Dems are making "slow progress", as noted by the widely accepted political scholar Caryn Elaine Johnson Whoopi Goldberg from the widely acclaimed, non-partisan, internationally revered think-tank, "The View":

al-Reuters  informs us that: "The [Georgia] election will not significantly change the balance of power in Washington, where Republicans control the White House and both chambers of Congress."

So...the Dems shouldn't care much? Are the Dems now writing off congressional districts they feel they don't need to win? If so, then why did they pour so much money into the Georgia race? And you have to wonder why did the DNC invest so heavily in a race where, as Ms. Goldberg pointed out, has been a Republican stronghold for decades? It's typical DNC mentality...undefinable and senseless at the same time

The APee story downplays the South Carolina Dem loss noting, "[the loss] could be in part because the national party largely stayed out of the race."

Let's see now, the Dem in South Carolina lost in part because the national (DNC) party stayed out of the election while the Dem in Georgia lost with the national party heavily involved in that election and pouring gazillions of dollars into a losing race. It is perfect Liberal Illogic at its finest.

It sound[s] like the Dems feel they have such a majority that they can write-off certain districts and yet somehow, come 2018, regain the majority. Well, reality isn't a place where the Dems spend their time.

How does this make the grassroots Democrat voter feel? Well, how would you feel if your national political party leaders, and its media, tell you, "ahhhh, we don't need your district. We can write it off. You don't count or matter."

This is the same strategy used by LOSING Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton; taking Blue states like Wisconsin for granted , not campaigning there...and then LOSING the state.

APee writes: "The Democrat [Archie Parnell] even won one county, Chester, that went for Donald Trump in the fall."

Wow! Isn't that great! He "even" won one county that was Trump county in the November 2016 presidential election.

This must be the "slow progress" strategy embraced by Ms. Goldberg and the DNC.

I'm all for this. I support the Dems and their 'slow progress strategy.' I support them spending absurd amounts of money on races in districts that are, and have been, Republican strongholds.

May the Dems continue writing-off more and more districts. By losing, they're actually winning, and who am I to take this away from them?
