TMZ: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Tells Crowd She Was Raped, Abortion Must be an Option.
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has made the overturning of Roe vs. Wade personal to make her point ... telling protesters in NYC she had been raped and thank God abortion was an option, although that never came to pass.
[.]
She said, "I myself, when I was about 22 or 23 years old, was raped when I was living here in New York City. I was completely alone. In fact, I felt so alone that I had to take a pregnancy test in a public bathroom in midtown Manhattan."
AOC went on ... "When I sat there waiting for what the result would be, all I could think was: Thank God I have, at least, a choice. Thank God I could, at least, have the freedom to choose my destiny. I didn't know then, as I was waiting, that it would come up negative[.]"
WHAT? I know in the past she said she, "feared being raped during the INSURRECTION," even though she was nowhere near the INSURRECTIONISTS.
I searched, couldn't find anything from her from the past of this new rape story.
"I myself, when I was about 22 or 23 years old, was raped...[.]"
Who uses this language of, "I, myself...." To me, that sounds like someone premeditating, "I'm about to tell a mistruth so I have to tee it up good."
Wouldn't you know your exact age if you were raped, or attacked or some how assaulted, and other factors of such a horrific incident? The day, the time, the weather? Okay, yes, trauma blunting out recollection. But of your exact age...you don't remember?
Not buying her story.
Please drop a comment if she's ever told this story before. If it's true, it's terrible and I'll be happy to retract my opinion that she's just making up a story for the Liberal Narrative. My searches yielded no results of her telling this story in the past.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's promise to boost federal funding for social programs should not be considered "free stuff," because they are in fact "public goods," the New York Democrat said in a Monday tweet.
Ocasio-Cortez, who earlier in the day led a Green New Deal town hall about public housing in the Bronx, said she's tired of being accused of essentially bribing voters with financial handouts.
"Public education, libraries, & infrastructure policies (which we‘ve had before in America and elsewhere in the world!) are not 'free stuff,'" she tweeted.
"They are PUBLIC GOODS. And they are worth investing in, protecting, & advancing for all society and future generations. Sincerely, NY-14."
Ocasio-Cortez, who has endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., in the 2020 race, also said she never wants to hear the term "free stuff" uttered ever again in a political context.
"I love that you support the Green Deal, but it’s not getting rid of fossil fuel, it’s not going to solve the problem fast enough,” the woman continued. “A Swedish professor [said] we can eat dead people but that’s not fast enough. So I think your next campaign slogan has to be this: 'We got to start eating babies'! We don’t have enough time! There is too much CO2," [said the yet-to-be-identified woman].
"...my hands are full. And sometimes I wonder if they’re trying to keep me busy," [said the JUNIOR DEM Rep from NY].
At Ryan Saavedra: Democrat Rep. Frederica Wilson (FL) says that people who are “making fun of members of Congress” online “should be prosecuted”.Nine-year-old Ava Martinez, the girl behind the highly popular Mini AOC Twitter parody account based on Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has deleted her social media accounts after her family were reportedly doxed and sent death threats from supporters of Ocasio-Cortez.
[.]
An account that reportedly belongs to Martinez’ stepfather, Salvatore Schachter, also released a statement on the matter confirming Posobiec’s reporting and saying that there will be no more Mini AOC content because of safety concerns.
Mr O'Rourke, 46, is the 15th Democrat to declare his bid for the White House.USA MacPaper: O'Rourke embodies everything the left says it hates.
Conservative writer Ed Scarry posted a photo of [Cortez's] backside on Twitter, questioning whether her black suit was befitting of a “girl who struggles.”"Conservatives tend to respond to fear more strongly than liberals do." Please. Liberals fear everything. Even a border wall. Their entire political ideology is rooted in keeping themselves and their supporters in various states of fear. It's called fear-mongering.
[.]
A Republican strategist referred to her as “the little girl” on Fox News, which runs segments about her constantly.
[.]
The obvious explanation is that men have literally never seen a woman in her 20s in the halls of Congress before. She’s attractive, telegenic and good at social media. She dances outside her Cannon House office. Conservative men are confused at being drawn to this bright rising star in the Democratic Party while loathing everything she stands for.
[.]
...what you might call “AOC Derangement Syndrome.” Indeed, some experts say conservative men are obsessed with Ocasio-Cortez because they’re threatened by her. (ARFKM? - D.D.)
Conservatives tend to respond to fear more strongly than liberals do, according to Bobby Azarian, a neuroscientist whose expertise in anxiety has led him to examine political behaviors. His research has found that the brains of conservative people are likely to display the same attention biases as the brains of people with anxiety.
Freshman lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dropped a hammer on Joe Lieberman on Thursday, after the onetime Democratic vice presidential candidate said he feared her brand of high-tax socialism could doom the party's chances for long-term dominance in Congress.
[.]
The 29-year-old Ocasio-Cortez retweeted the 76-year-old's sentiment with a four-word rejoinder: 'New party, who dis?'
Fast radio bursts (FRBs) flash only for a micro-instant, but can emit as much energy as the sun does in 10,000 years.Maybe in space, your screams are heard.
Exactly what causes these high-energy surges of long waves at the far end of the electromagnetic spectrum remains the subject of intense debate.
[.]
“FRBs, it seems, are likely generated in dense, turbulent regions of host galaxies,” [said] Shriharsh Tendulkar, a corresponding author for both studies and an astronomer at McGill University.
Incoming New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is taking aim at that most sacred of American cows, the public-private partnership, criticizing Tesla for accepting government subsidies without giving back to the taxpayer.Does she remember Solyndra and other green energy failures that cost taxpayers over $2.2 billion? Or $4 billion annually to oil companies? (It's the NYT so it has to be true).
“When we as a public choose to invest in new technologies, we deserve a return on that investment,” Ocasio-Cortez said during a climate change town hall event on Monday.
[.]
While Tesla has certainly benefited from government subsidies, racking up $2.4 billion as of 2016, the company does not receive nearly as much from the taxpayer as other automakers like Ford, which received $4 billion during that same time, or GM, which got $5.8 billion.
