Real ID Act a Step to the New World Order?

I can't believe, for the life of me, Federal and State elected officials did not fight back hard on the Real ID Act :
Congress passed the REAL ID Act as part of the Emergency Supplemental Appropriation Act for Defense, the Global War on Terror, and Tsunami Relief in 2005 (HR1268), and President George Bush Signed into law on May 11, 2005.

The act provides that, beginning three years after its enactment - i.e., as of May 2008 - driver's licenses and state IDs that do not meet the act's requirements will not be accepted for any specifically defined "official" federal purpose.

I can't believe any elected official, federal and state (legislatures) and their governors who eagerly agreed to this fiasco; a step, I think, right into the
New World Order.

What is defined as "official" federal purposes for which a non Real ID Card may be refused?  Let's take a look at what the ACLU says about Real ID:
The law defines “official purposes” as including, but not limited to, accessing federal facilities, boarding commercial aircraft, entering nuclear power plants, and any other purposes that the Secretary of Homeland Security determines. The law does not limit potential uses for Real IDs. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in charge of administering the law, has boasted about the potential of Real IDs to regulate voting, gun ownership, immigration, and Social Security and other federal benefit programs.
DHS’s final regulations for implementing the law, released in January 2008, authorize states, local governments and the private sector to require Real IDs wherever and whenever they choose. People would need them to function normally, making Real IDs America’s first-ever national ID cards.
I live in Minnesota where the state is not yet in compliance with Real ID. Not for any objectionable "New World Order" reasons, but for the cost and how to implement the new ID system. Huh - funny, when has the cost or how to implement something ever stalled the government in the past?

I'll be writing more on this later.  What are your thoughts?  Is the Real ID a step towards a NWO?  Has your state complied and put Real ID into action, and if so, do you have one of these new Real IDs, and what do you think of them?
