NY Post: Pepsi unveils ‘Cracker Jill’ version of ‘Cracker Jack’ to promote women’s sports.

PepsiCo announced this week it is unveiling new characters named “Cracker Jill” as part of its “Cracker Jack” brand in an effort to promote the accomplishments of women in sports.

“After more than 125 years as one of sport’s most iconic snacks, Cracker Jack is adding a new face to its roster, with the introduction of Cracker Jill to celebrate the women who break down barriers in sports,” PepsiCo said in a press release announcing the new characters from Frito-Lay. “Tapping into the brand’s rich history with America’s favorite pastime, Cracker Jill™ comes to life through five different representations on a series of special-edition bags, which will be available at the start of this year’s baseball season in professional ballparks across the country and through a donation of $5 or more to the Women’s Sports Foundation.”

The company says it will be donating $200,000 to the nonprofit Women’s Sports Foundation to “help girls and women across the country reach their potential in sport and life.”

The company also released a video of singer Normani belting out a “new spin” on the classic baseball melody “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”

“Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jill,” Normani sings. “No one can stop you if you have the will.”

Pepsi added that the team heading up the campaign is “fueled by powerful female and non-binary voices.”

This product seems sexist and part of the oppressive heteronormative patriarchy. I mean, where is TransJack?

A high school student identified by the Daily Herald as Julia Burca chokes up as she discusses how her school district ruled Thursday that transgender students will have unrestricted access to bathrooms of their choice, video footage created by the Daily Herald shows.

“I feel uncomfortable that my privacy is being invaded,” Burca says, who had a red nose and eyes. “As I am a swimmer, I do change multiple times naked in front of the other students in the locker room. I understand that the board has an obligation to all students but I was hoping they would go about this in a different way that would also accommodate students such as myself.”

Palatine High School in northwest Illinois [is] where board members voted to give unrestricted locker room and restroom access to transgender students[.]

A transgender student identified as Nova Maday [said], "It passed, it passed," Maday reportedly says happily in the video. "I’m ecstatic."

"It’s definitely a first step forward in many more steps, it’s a great policy, unfortunately, it’s not everything we want," [said Maday].

Twenty-year-old Ashley Smith of Ontario, whose name is being altered due to trauma and for the protection of her work and family, says she was victimized when, like Rumpel, she was a teen.

In one of the messages Smith has provided, Yaniv is seen saying “I want to be really good friends with you, like really close” and asking the 14-year-old to tell them when she’s got her period. In another, Yaniv asks for advice on how to get feminine hygiene products from girls, what kinds of girls to ask, and whether or not to hang around outside of girls’ washrooms.

In this message, Yaniv admits to opening child pornography and tells the young girl, asking her “wanna see?”

Yaniv also says “I wish you were two years older,” implying they [he] would like to engage in sexual relations with Smith, and later asks her “would you date a guy who wore pads?”

In spite of the fact that JY is able to obtain a Manzilian in Vancouver, JY has filed 16 complaints against these women at the BC Human Rights Tribunal, claiming discrimination on the basis of “gender identity.”

...Shelah Poyer, is a single mom who works out of her home.  JY was willing to withdraw his complaint in exchange for $2,500.

If JY is demanding similar sums from the other 14 women, he stands to receive as much as $35,000 for dropping his human rights complaints.

Marcia Da Silva, who is an immigrant from Brazil operated the business out of her home where her small children also live. Da Silva claims she refused to perform the procedure on the claimant, Jessica Yaniv, due to safety concerns raised by her husband and alleged harassment on Yaniv’s part and not because of the claimant’s identity.

...Yaniv, has taken fifteen other B.C. women to the tribunal for refusing to wax her male genitalia citing discrimination based on gender identity and is seeking financial compensation. Many of the woman are of East Asian ethnicity and have English as their second language.

During Wednesday’s tribunal proceedings Da Silva claims that the incident directly led to her shutting down her business and losing it as a source of income for her family.

Dr Christopher John Salgado was recently let go as the section chief of UHealth's LGBTQ Center for Wellness, Gender and Sexual Health.

According to a petition, Salgado, 50, shared photos on the Instagram account @sexsurgeon that violated patient privacy policies and that contained 'racist, transphobic, homophobic comments and hashtags'.
