NBC News reports that E. Jean Carroll’s gun was seized after she admitted to having an unregistered gun during Donald Trump’s most recent civil case over him allegedly defaming her.

The chief of police in Warwick, New York, visited Carroll at her home on Feb. 15 “to discuss some open issues,” which was her statement that she never registered her pistol.

Carroll and her lawyer surrendered the gun the next day.

Why do I ask this? 1) I don't believe in coincidences. 2) If I did believe in coincidences, the number of instances of this happening with bio-metric options greatly exceeds what I would consider or define as a "coincidence." 

This isn't part of The GBBL story, it's me: If you bought and have to return one of these safes, may I suggest wiping it down entirely, inside and out, so that traces of your print(s) aren't available. After the wipe-down, from that point on, handle the safe entirely wearing gloves. Touch nothing, not the receipt, not the "return" papers, not the pen -  nothing - without wearing gloves. You can removed them once you've left the store and don't dispose of them anywhere but from home, preferably shredding them.

Gaston Glock, the reclusive engineer and tycoon who developed one of the world's best-selling handguns, died on Wednesday aged 94, Austrian news agency APA said.

The Austrian won loyal followings among police and military across the world with the weapons that bore his name. Forbes estimated his and his family's fortune at $1.1 billion in 2021.

His rise began in the 1980s when the Austrian military was looking for a new, innovative weapon.

Up until then, the Glock company had made military knives and consumer goods including curtain rods. But he assembled a team of firearms experts and came up with the Glock 17, a lightweight semi-automatic gun largely made of plastic.

The revolutionary design - with a frame made of a high-strength, nylon-based polymer and only the slide made of metal - beat several other companies' blueprints and secured his upstart outfit the contract.

Soon the easily assembled weapon became a global hit. "Get yourself a Glock and lose that nickel-plated sissy pistol," Tommy Lee Jones said in the 1998 movie "U.S. Marshals".

The Gun Feed: Bear-Spraying Robber Says “Happy Holidays” Before Jewelry Store Owner Shoots Her.

GARDENDALE, AL – A jewelry store owner in Gardendale, Ala. (roughly 10 miles from Birmingham) shot a robber on Dec. 6, stopping the robbery attempt in its tracks.

In an interview with AL.com , store owner Jeff Dennis said that the robber – one Heather Denise Wright, 32 – blocked the door of Jeff Dennis Jewelers after she entered the store, alerting him to an incipient robbery and prompting him to draw his concealed pistol.

After blocking the door, Wright said, “Happy Holidays! I don’t want to hurt y’all, but I am,” and started hosing the inside of the store down with bear spray.

Owner Jeff Dennis feared for his safety and that of his employees. Once she started using the spray, he fired and struck Wright in the shoulder, causing her to drop her purse and scream for him to stop and flee the scene.

Dennis hit the store alarm, alerting authorities, and closed the store.

Wright was found later that day, after which she was arrested and taken into custody as well as to University of Alabama Hospital. Dennis said he found additional weapons in her purse, which was left at the scene.

...the Houston office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives tweeted a photo of ATF Austin agents at the gun range that appears to show an agent on the wrong side of the loading table with at least one gun pointed at him.

The Twitter-sphere lit up with Twitter users mocking the photo.

Hilton Hotel manager arrested for waking up guest by sucking on his toes.

WHIO-TV (Yahoo): Hilton Hotel manager arrested for waking up guest by sucking on his toes.

A Hilton Hotel manager was arrested and charged Friday for entering a guest’s room and sucking on the customer’s toes.

David Neal, 52, was charged with aggravated burglary and assault for entering a male guest’s room and sucking on his toes Thursday, March 30.

Nashville Police were dispatched shortly after 5 a.m. to 121 4th Avenue South, where a Hilton Hotel resides, a spokesperson for the city’s police department stated.

While investigating a complaint, officers discovered that Neal, working as a night manager at the time, made a key card and entered the guest’s room.

The guest then woke up to find Neal sucking on his toes, which he immediately confronted.

The guest recognized Neal because the day before, he came into the room with another employee to fix an issue with the television, the spokesperson informed.

Neal claimed that he entered the room because he smelled smoke and was checking on the victim. However, the night manger did not report this issue to security. Furthermore, no other resident reported smelling smoke.

When officers asked where the room key was, Neal replied that he threw it away, the spokesperson said. The room key was never recovered.

Nashville Police Central Precinct detectives led the investigation and issued warrants against Neal.

He was arrested at his Lebanon, Tennessee, residence.

Neal is currently in jail, to be released on a $27,000 bond.

Parliament is expected to pass legislation allowing pistols to be carried for self-defense, the interior minister’s adviser says.

Ukrainians could gain the right to carry pistols for self-defense as early as next year, according to an adviser to the country’s minister for internal affairs.

Citing an unspecified poll, Viktor Andrusiv claimed on Sunday that 70% of Ukrainians support the relevant legislation, which was approved at the first stage by the country’s parliament on February 23 – the day before Russia launched its military offensive.

He said amendments were now being prepared for the second reading of the bill.

According to the explanatory note of the legislation, which was supported at the first reading by 274 out of 352 MPs, the law would allow citizens who find themselves “in a situation of extreme necessity” to protect their own, as well as other people’s “life and health,” with the use of firearms.

According to the note, “firearms are the most effective means for citizens to exercise their constitutional right to self-defense.” The legislation’s authors also claim that a “vast majority of the developed countries of the world” have provided their citizens with this right and thus reduced the number of violent crimes.

Hunter shoots brother, mistakes him for a wounded deer.

Michigan Live (via Archive): Hunter accidentally shoots brother after mistaking him for wounded deer, police say.

IONIA COUNTY, MI – A hunter was seriously wounded Saturday, Nov. 16, when he was accidentally shot by his brother.

The victim, a 28-year-old Lowell man, was airlifted from the scene in Ionia County. His brother, a 29-year-old Saranac man, told police he accidentally shot his brother with a muzzle-loader rifle thinking he was shooting at a deer that had been wounded.

Sheriff’s deputies found the brothers, who had been hunting together.

“Investigation on the scene and in follow up interviews determined this was by all accounts an accidental shooting that occurred after the men were looking for a deer that one brother had shot earlier with his muzzle loading rifle,” the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

The brothers could not find the deer and were ending the search when they became separated in the dense cornfield. The brother who fired the shot was some distance away when he thought he saw the deer moving. He heard what he thought was the deer moving and fired, hitting his brother.

After firing the shot, he realized he had hit his brother and immediately called 911.

The brothers walked out of the cornfield where first responders provided medical help.

Aiiigghhh! You don't pull the trigger based on what you think you see and hear is a deer.

It could have been so much worse. That the shot brother was able to walk is, at the very least, a good sign. This makes a great story for the brothers, especially the one who got shot. For the next 40+ years, he can play the, "Hey, remember that time you shot me," line.

If I was deer hunting, and had to be shot, I guess I'd rather it be my brother shooting me than some stranger. And I think I'd rather be the one taking the bullet. I'd feel pretty bad about shooting someone, especially my brother. Then again, people I've hunted with wouldn't have fired based on what the one brother thought he saw and heard. Nor would I.

ID your target, confirm your target and reconfirm your target before pulling the trigger.

Rep. Matt Gaetz, Florida Repubilcan, tweeted on Feb. 13: “Democrats in the Judiciary Committee just voted against notifying ICE when an illegal alien fails a background check to buy a gun. They hate ICE so much that they’d keep ICE in the dark when illegals try to get guns!”
