A photo from Gov. Ralph Northam’s medical school yearbook shows him and another person in racist costumes — one wearing blackface and one a Ku Klux Klan robe and hood, though it was not clear which person was the future governor.
The photo, which The Virginian-Pilot obtained a copy of Friday from the Eastern Virginia Medical School library, comes from the 1984 yearbook, the year Northam graduated.

"I recognize that it will take time and serious effort to heal the damage this conduct has caused. I am ready to do that important work. The first step is to offer my sincerest apology and to state my absolute commitment to living up to the expectations Virginians set for me when they elected me to be their governor," [Northam said].
Northam admits he is depicted in the photo, but it is unclear which man is Northam. This is the same Democrat governor claiming his controversial abortion views are "mischaracterized".
At the press conference, a small group of protesters, including a pregnant woman, silently held signs with pictures of infants and captions such as: "Endangered Species in Ralph Northam's Virginia."And let us not forget long, long-time U.S. Senator from West Virginia, the deceased Robert Byrd, KKK Exalted Cyclops who was free from criticism in saying, "white nigger" and who invoked Nazi language and Adolf Hitler during Senate discussion over the "nuclear (Senate) option."

"This is a sham what's going on in there right now. Democrats are not being heard. They are pushing through this process," said Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., one of the members who walked out [of the Friday Kavanaugh committee meeting].
