Planned Parenthood requests donations of PPE during Covid-19 crisis.

Planned Parenthood is requesting donations of personal protective equipment (PPE) for its staff as the group demands elective abortions continue during the coronavirus crisis in the United States.
[.]
In an email message to supporters, Sue Dunlap, president of the group’s Los Angeles affiliate, wrote Planned Parenthood needs:

Supplies for our clinics –– In order to keep our patients, staff, and sites moving through this emergency, we need all of the same supplies you are hearing about on the news.  As gloves, masks, and medications run low, we are doing all that we can to procure supplies for the essential care our community is depending on us to provide.

The abortion giant is also requesting donations for “hardware like laptops, phones, and hotspots that we hope will remain functional in the worst of scenarios” to ramp up its “remote call center.”

Additionally, Planned Parenthood is requesting donations to its “Emergency Relief Fund for our almost-500 coworkers in order to help them cover groceries, child care, or any other expenses they are incurring while working and supporting Planned Parenthood patients through this difficult time.”

9th US Circuit Court of Appeals upholds Trump Admin Title X. Planned Parenthood departure as soon as Monday.

NBC2: Planned Parenthood faces critical decision after abortion-referral restriction upheld:
The 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday denied Planned Parenthood's request to reverse its order allowing the Trump administration's Title X abortion clinic-referral restriction to go into effect -- a blow for abortion rights activists after the organization threatened to pull out of the federal family-planning program over the rule.
[.]
[Mia Heck, director of external affairs at HHS' Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health] pointed to an earlier statement accusing Planned Parenthood of "actually choosing to place a higher priority on the ability to refer for abortion instead of continuing to receive federal funds to provide a broad range of acceptable and effective family planning methods and services to clients in need of these services."
National Catholic RegisterPlanned Parenthood to pull out of Title X.
The decision is set to take effect Aug. 19, the date by which funding recipients are required to make a “good faith” undertaking to comply with a new rule barring the referral of clients for abortion services.

After it was announced in final form in February, the Protect Life Rule was subject to court challenges from abortion providers and several states. In June, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals determined that the rule could come into force. In July, judges refused to issue a stay against that decision.

Planned Parenthood informed the court on Wednesday that, unless they reversed its refusal to grant a stay, it would leave the Title X program on Monday.

Planned Parenthood’s acting president Alexis McGill Johnson said the group refused “to let the Trump administration bully us into withholding abortion information from our patients.”

Calling the Protect Life Rule a “gag on health care providers,” Johnson said in a statement that the rule is “a blatant assault on our health and rights, and we will not stand for it.”
Yeah, well, PP faced a choice (no pun intended) and they made their decision. It wouldn't be surprising if PP backtracks on this considering how much Liberal organizations love public funding. But doing so would compromise their ideological price of human life, of which they've just determined. Now, if they can just stop whining over their choice...(pun intended).

Detroit's Disasterous DUMB Dangerous Democrat Debbie Dingell. (Making Alliteration fun!)

Dumb Debbie Dingell

Michigan's U.S. Congresswohman Debbie Dingell, who has lived a life of wealth and privilege, will introduce legislation requiring installation of breathalyzer-ignition interlock devices in EVERY vehicle. Washington Free Beacon
Before starting a car, drivers would have to self-submit to a breathalyzer test. If a driver's blood alcohol content is above the legal limit, the car will not start.

Dingell suggested in a speech on the House floor that her measure would be successful if it prevented a single death resulting from a drunk driver.
[.]
"I know some will say this is too much of a burden. ‘It won’t work. Why should we have to do that?'" Dingell said. "I’m going to look them in the eye and tell them why no community should ever have to feel what our community is feeling this week."
Fine Debs, and I'll look you in the eye and tell you breathalyzer-ignition interlock systems are easily defeated by having someone sober breath into the device. So - then what?

I know what I'd like to see. A breathalyzer test deployed, that every elected politician must pass, before they are permitted to cast a vote. ANY vote. And they should all be drug tested as well, holding them the same standard that U.S. employers drug screen job candidates.

However, Debs isn't on the same page of her sophistic "if it prevents a single death" on building a border wall. Debs also gets the highest Baby Killer rating a politician can receive from NARAL. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT.

Too bad Rose Kennedy's 1967 Oldsmobile lacked a ignition-interlock device on July 18, 1969.

Rose Kennedy's 1967 Olds. Failed as a boat.

Back to DUMB Debbie Dingell's draft decree demanding mandatory ignition-interlock systems in all vehicles. This bill will never see the light of day. Besides the financial burden, passed onto consumers by the auto makers, of adding this to every single vehicle, how does she plan to retrofit all the existing, operating vehicles currently in use? And I guess every police car, fire truck, ambulance and other government vehicles will also have this device if she were to have her way. We can't just assume those drivers will be sober, can we? Not if it will save one life.

Her idea is DUMB. I'd say the exact same thing if she was a Republican. Or any other political affiliation. People like Dingell are dangerous because their ideology seeks to make everyone a criminal where there is no due and reasonable cause.

Oregon Bicycle Tax...I Want To Ride My Bicycle...Bicycle...Bicycle!

Advisory: Video contains some (inoffensive) glimpses of (slight) nudity.

This is as good as it gets. This is the kind of story for which I live. This is a story about Full Circle Liberalism, because it's funny when Liberals are TAXED and assessed FEES!

In the past, it was those who engaged in "vices" that were hit hard with taxes. Mostly, users of tobacco and those who enjoy a cocktail took the hit.

Could it be that because so many people quit smoking that Oregon state revenue also dropped and now the time has come to tax the bikers? Full Circle Liberalism...how can you not just love this type of story?

Oregon will tax bicyclists.  The Washington Times:
...the state Legislature’s approval of the first statewide bike tax in the nation has fallen flat with riders.
Democratic Gov. Kate Brown is expected to sign the sweeping $5.3 billion transportation package, which includes a $15 excise tax on the sale of bicycles costing more than $200 with a wheel diameter of at least 26 inches.
Even though the funding has been earmarked for improvements that will benefit cyclists, the tax has managed to irk both anti-tax Republicans and environmentally conscious bikers.
Ahhhhhh, da poor widdle environmentally (un)conscious bikers and the sound of their communal Liberal Whining. (Sniff, sniff..) it's just...so movingly touching.

Dear Whining Oregon Bicyclists, if you can pay over $200 for  a bike, you can afford another $15 for "the state".

Continued from the same linked story above:
BikePortland publisher Jonathan Maus called it “an unprecedented step in the wrong direction.”
“We are taxing the healthiest, most inexpensive, most environmentally friendly, most efficient and most economically sustainable form of transportation ever devised by the human species,” Mr. Maus said.
Wrong, Mr. Maus. The most inexpensive, most environmentally friendly, most efficient and most economical sustainable form of transportation EVER - is WALKING. Besides, what adult makes a statement that will be published, saying, "[INSERT TOPIC] is the best thing EVER"?  Are you in middle school, Mr. Maus?

It might take you a few hours or more to walk the 5 or 25 miles to work, but don't you feel better about not using a bicycle, which takes natural resources, steel, labor, rubber, plastic and a bunch of other stuff. Plus the retail mark-up; 'ho, we can't forget the greedy, money and soul-sucking, bastard corporatistsThey're making a profit...how dare they!

And let's not forget, the bike is not going to drive itself to your local bike shop. No, it will probably get there by being transported in a large semi-truck. And if your precious bike is made in overseas, then it spent some time on a cargo ship. My God, think of the carbon footprint. How dare you own a bicycle, you aristocratic elite bastards!

But it takes natural resources and stuff to make shoes and hiking boots too! Yeah, but still not as much as a bicycle.

More from the same story:
Oregon Republican Party Chairman Bill Currier blasted what he described as Ms. Brown’s “endless obsession with finding new and innovative ways to take money out of the pockets of Oregon taxpayers.”
This Libertarian (that would be me) is MORE than joyous to see a Democrat governor in a deeply imbued Blue state, find "new and innovative ways to take money [from taxpayers]." Especially the taxpayer tri  bicycle riders.

More, from the same story:
The Street Trust, a Portland pro-bike group, praised the overall transportation package while saying that the bike tax “sends the wrong message to those trying to help.”
“Let’s be frank: This bike tax is very disappointing,” said The Street Trust’s Romain Bonilla.
Oh, Romain, that's so sad. Yes, it is so very disappointing, eh Romain?

Liberal Whining...The Best Ever. EVER!

And this nugget, from the same story.
Bikers cheered last year when Portland passed a four-year, 10-cent-per-gallon tax on gasoline aimed at improving roads[.]
Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh...typical Liberal refrain; "tax thee but not me."

On a different issue, Gov. Brown has decreed "free abortions for all."  The Washington Times:
“The ability to control our bodies and make informed decisions about health are critical to providing all Oregonians the opportunity to achieve our full potential and live productive, thriving lives,” the Democratic chief executive said in an email. “Attempts to deny access to contraceptives and family planning are an attack on all Oregonians, particularly women of color, low-income and young women.”
Yes, I guess in order to achieve full potential, living productive and BEST EVER  THRIVING lives, a free abortion is an inalienable right. And so is a bicycle. Maybe?
