An Egyptian court says broadcasting the execution could serve as a deterrent for other would-be criminals.

A court in Egypt has called for the live TV hanging of a convicted murderer, arguing that it could help deter other would-be killers, according to letters to parliament quoted by local media on Sunday.

During a highly-publicized two-day trial earlier this month, 21-year-old Mohamed Adel was convicted for killing fellow student Nayera Ashraf outside Mansoura University in northern Egypt in late June. It was reported that Adel stalked the girl for some time, and when she refused to marry him, he devised a gruesome plot to kill her.

According to video footage of the incident, which went viral on social media and sparked outrage across the country, Adel repeatedly stabbed Ashraf as she got off a bus near the university, jumped on her, and slit her throat in front of a number of horrified onlookers.

Adel pleaded guilty to the murder and was sentenced to death on July 6. However, due to the heinous nature of the murder, the court now wants to make an example out of Adel, and has asked the government to allow a live national TV broadcast of the execution.

According to charges, man allegedly raped stepdaughter, 11, with mother's consent so she would seek an abortion, which would then allow them to receive large sum of money from the state to buy an apartment.

The Lod District Court on Sunday filed an indictment against a couple from central Israel, alleging the man repeatedly raped his minor stepdaughter with the mother's consent in order to impregnate her and then seek an abortion to collect a large sum of money from the state.

According to the charges presented in court, the stepfather — whose name was placed under a gag order to protect the identity of the child who was just 11 years old at the time — convinced his partner to allow him to have relations with her daughter to impregnate her.

The couple planned for the girl to seek an abortion, which would then allow them to collect a large sum of money from the state for the purpose of buying an apartment and covering other expenses.

Despite the child's refusal to cooperate in with the scheme, the man allegedly raped her on a bi-weekly basis for three years, using severe violence against her in some cases.

The girl’s mother, who was also hit with rape charges, was aware fully aware of her partner's actions and threatened to kill her daughter should she speak out about the abuse.

The police investigation found that the couple also kept a journal tracking the girl's menstrual cycle.

The defendants were charged with the rape of a minor and family member, abusing a minor, conspiracy to commit a crime, obstruction of justice and more. The man was also charged with sexual abuse of a minor family member, and the mother was also accused of assault and making threats against a minor.

Attorney Shiran Bergman, who represents the couple, said: “The mother had a hard life. Due to her state, the court accepted our request and ordered to have her inspected. We’ll consider our steps after we receive the investigatory materials and the mother’s diagnosis.”

Oh! "The mother had a hard life." A "diagnosis" is required? The mother and step-father are criminal degenerates. But hey, you know, we have to wait until an official "diagnosis" is determined.

Rhuan Maycon, 9, was stabbed to death on May 31st by his mother, Rosana da Silva Candido, 27, and lesbian partner Kacyla Damasceno Pessao, 28.

The boy was stabbed to death as he slept after suffering for a year after a botched gender reassignment surgery.

According to Brazil’s Child Protective Services, the boy had a“kind of a sex-change surgery. After removing the penis, they sewed the mutilated region and improvised a version of a female genital organ, making a cut in the groin.”

The surgery had apparently been performed with no medical supervision after Rhuan’s mother had decided to turn her son into a girl.

Rhuan’s father had previously contacted Child Protective Services and the police after expressing concerns about the welfare of his son.

Rhuan’s mother and her partner were able to evade the authorities by moving across states and around the country.

Child Protective Services were unable to keep up or save Rhuan’s young life.

Rhuan’s father told the press, “We tried to save Rhuan. We published messages on the social media, we contacted police and the Child Protective Services. No one helped us.”

It appears that Rhuan had suffered extensive psychological trauma from his mother for being male before his penis was severed and his eventual death.

Two circus promoters from are accused of chaining their son to a motel bathtub and watching him die a slow, painful death.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office was called to a hospital in Bloomington, Indiana to investigate the death of 12-year-old Eduardo Posso.

Detectives say Posso was in Indiana with his father, Luis Posso and stepmother, Dayana Marina Flores, while they promoted a circus that opens next month. Their other children, ages 9, 5 and 2 helped the couple pass out flyers, but Eduardo was left chained to the bathtub in the hotel room, without food.

On Friday, Eduardo stopped breathing and his father took him to Bloomington Hospital. He died shortly after.

According to the coroner, Eduardo was severely malnourished with zero percent body fat.

A search of the motel room turned up restraints used on the young boy and a webcam tied to the towel bar, which the couple allegedly used to watch the boy as his health deteriorated, authorities said. Detectives also found cell phone pictures and videos of the boy in shackles, according to the report.

Jake Patterson, the man who abducted 13-year-old Jayme Closs and held her captive until she escaped months later, pleaded guilty in an emotional court appearance on Wednesday.

"Bye, Jayme," Patterson said, before he was led away.

Patterson, 21, shot and killed Closs' parents on Oct. 15 and kidnapped the 13-year-old from her home in rural Barron, Wisconsin.

As he pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and one count of kidnapping, Patterson appeared emotional, with his voice cracking at times.

5,500 Calorie Meal for Executed Death Row Inmate

It's time to end "you get to eat whatever you want for your last meal."

J W Ledford, who stabbed an elderly doctor to death in 1992, told witnesses to his death they could "kiss my white trash ass" after he had polished off [a 5,500-calorie final meal of] filet mignon steak with bacon and pepperjack cheese, fried chicken, pork chops and chicken goujons.

He had also ordered side dishes including hot chips and a pecan pie with ice cream, and washed it all down with a Sprite.

[And]  [b]ecause of changes in brain chemistry caused by a drug Ledford has been taking for chronic nerve pain for more than a decade, there was a high risk that the pentobarbital Georgia planned to use to execute him would not render him unconscious and devoid of sensation or feeling.

Yes...it's a shame that Ledford might have felt the slightest discomfort during his execution.

I am against the Death Penalty. Every rule has an exception. For me, putting Ledford to death falls into my "exception" category.
