Last Friday morning [Eleven-year-old Braydon Smith] was at home alone in Mebane, North Carolina, when a stranger knocked on his front door. Braydon says a man then burst through the front door and found him in his room.WBTV: Suspect treated, escapes from hospital; is on the run.
"He pointed the gun at me and up he told me to sit down on the ground and get in my closet. I did that."
The suspect went into the living room to gather electronics, then went back to question Brayden.
"He found my phone on the counter, and he took the phone but he dropped it. And that's when I picked up my machete and hit him in the back of the head."
Jataveon Dashawn Hall, 19, was injured when 11-year-old Braydon Smith struck him in the head with a machete while Hall was trying to steal electronics from the boy’s home in Mebane, deputies and reports said.

Hall was later found by deputies at the emergency room at UNC Hospital in Hillsborough.
UNC Hospital in Hillsborough transferred Hall to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill because of his severe wound, deputies said.
“Hospital police were notified. They were to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Office prior to discharging Hall at which time deputies would pick Hall up and take him before a magistrate where … warrants would be served,” deputies said in the news release.
However, Hall fled the hospital sometime Friday “against medical advice,” deputies said.
“Shortly before 8 p.m. Friday night, a nurse entered Hall’s room and discovered his bed empty. A review of videotape showed him walking out of the hospital wearing a hospital gown,” the news release on Saturday said.
His head was wrapped in a bandage when he walked out of the hospital. The SBI and the US Marshalls are assisting in the search for Hall.

Police arrested a 17-year-old in a common law robbery.
Jataveon Dashawn Hall is accused of luring the victim Monday to the 1400 block of Stout Street, where he and another unidentified teenager robbed the victim, according to a police news release.
The suspects contacted the victim through an online site and agreed to sell the victim a used game system, according to the release. When the victim arrived, Hall and his accomplice took the victim’s money and tried to run.
