He responds: "It's the attackers, but also the attacks."

Smollett also talked about those who don't believe his story.

Sgt. Rocco Alioto told USA TODAY that although they appreciate Smollett's cooperation, the submitted records were rejected because they "do not meet the burden for a criminal investigation as they were limited and heavily redacted."

Two weeks have passed since Jussie Smollett told police he was attacked. The 36-year-old openly gay “Empire” actor has not changed his report of the event, but police still do not have anyone in custody.

The consensus within the Chicago PD is that Smollett lied about the attack.

Sources say investigators believe Smollett was attacked by a man (or men) he met on a homosexual dating app within an hour after he landed in Chicago.

Smollett is reportedly desperate to keep the truth from coming to light.

The Blaze: Neighbor of Smollett doesn't believe attack happened.

"I don't believe it happened the way he said it did," Agin Muhammad, who lives in the apartment complex as the actor, the New York Post reported. "I've been in this neighborhood five years. I don't believe it, not around here. … Half the people are gay and the other half are black."
