Odysseus fell and it can't get up!

Odysseus lander shown touching down on moon with broken leg.

...the engineering team received a blow, with the "top" of the lander now lying on the ground. A large solar panel on top of the vehicle was supposed to gather energy.

... two [antennas] were sending back largely gibberish. It turns out that the muffled signal they were getting from those two antennas was bouncing off the surface of the Moon because the antennas were pointing downward.

"We had no way to navigate in space," Altemus said.

One report stated investors didn't care for the "success" description. How they can get them back is beyond me, but the loss of money for a new effort is probably something that will lead to less involvement of the private sector, of the company survives.

Jess , I saw a similar story to that, didn't bookmark it, and for the life of me can't find it. Totally agree, when private investors bail, the government.....Uhhhh, the TAXPAYERS will be on the hook for financing these failures.
