Read Leviticus 18, 19 and 20. God, via Moses, had to tell the Jews not to have sexual relations with their parent, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, children or the spouse of their neighbor. They had to be told not to sacrifice their children to Molech (Leviticus 18:21 NIV), their "god" of child sacrifice. They had to be told not to defile themselves by having sexual relations with animals.
